  1. thanks, found a few possible GPU's quite a few cheap radeons and a few Nvidia's (mostly the ones here) PSU is basicly sorted as a Corsair builder either 430 or 600 watt may go for a modular enthusiast 550 if money is good just the GPU now......
  2. doubt it ever will it make more sense to go right to 1.4
  3. Thanks for the reply dont know about that kind of scale of upgrade as is obvious im going as cheap as I can get most critical being the GPU and PSU may get round to other upgrades over time looking at my options with the corsair if I drop to XP (Vista is ok but honestly with the lesser ram usage its probably better) and I think not 100% sure http://www.amazon.co.uk/Palit-GeForce-Graphics-Express-Support/dp/B00510LDR8 this or its 1GB counterpart could handle my plans for it should be able to run x64 on both easy x128 on the 2GB I think can anyone advise on that? just to demonstrate my current intigrated unit with the x32 and lots of settings turned way down 9 FPS.......... and far from stable also on x32 with all animations except tools off along with everything else 20 FPS and its stable this time odd 1 or 2 unit fluctuation ill be happy if I cant hit a stable 30 or 40 and far with some good settings and random mobs back on EDIT thought id throw this one in taken on the settings I would like (short on the dynamic animations only) 10 FPS by no means stable but being on the move on much higher settings than the first getting higher FPS? think its to do with having it on far and less chunk's being loaded as a result top tip there turn everything but render down for better FPS
  4. So the deployers will place against the first available block by the look of it could probably use timers and a single block at the rear for pkacement
  5. that would be epic better if it changed direction not really used deployers had planned on it with my skyrim style puzzle door but never did do they need a block to place against or can they just place in air? Supposed I could always get out and place a few to start the trail after a turn
  6. Hello all Myself and a mate are planing a server with one purpose a giant airship hopefully flyable with the airship mod otherwise there is a big redpower computer and circuit to build and some hardcore programing to make it muti directional. ive built a few prototypes of the basic frame and a tnt drop mechanism (that fails most of the time tried everything and it dont work:() and was wondering if you could offer any design idea's so far its looking like 3 floors the head for a cockpit and the tail as living area in the middle with a frame boarding ramp with single seat craft on the bottom and somthing on the top im looking for a back up frame design if the airship mod fails any ideas?
  7. its often like that something $300 can cost £400-£500 here even though it should only be about £190
  8. I had hoped to go for a larger upgrade i.e. the DDR3 mobo ect but it this would work out better ill have a look ot an XP disk lying around not sue about a license but ill check it you sure one of the more modern cards wouldnt perform better? I would have thought they would have. EDIT Had a look at the loud card one of the reviews mentioned the GTS 450 saying its about 3-4 times better and its cheaper would that work? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Palit-GeForce-Edition-Graphics-Express/dp/B007ZZTP36/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1347486625&sr=8-2 Just checked I think the XP should work don't even know what version it is right enough (got it from a mate with a vista disk (XP wasn't supposed to be there) and it may be less than legit but vista works so can't see an issue just need to figure out which code is XP) Yeah my main issue with the CPU is not knowing how id go about it I can get a few cheap AMD's off eBuyer like this one http://www.ebuyer.com/238329-amd-sempron-145-2-8ghz-45w-socket-am3-retail-boxed-processor-sdx145hbgmbox even with the lower clock id imagine it would be better than my pentium and even then can still get a similar clock http://www.ebuyer.com/353773-amd-athlon-ii-x2-250-3ghz-socket-am3-2mb-l2-cache-oem-adx250ock23gm and I think with shipping that GPU would be a bit expensive to justify it and why not link to foxconn they made the mobo and its the only place I can find specs on it
  9. Im looking for a desktop rather than a laptop Ill be keeping clear of Dells after the last one thanks for the suggestion though, and its about £500 over here in your money about $804
  10. SMP captain of the mighty nyan cat airship! (Dictator) SSP Sadaam style democracy (Dictatorship)
  11. yeah thats pounds by current rates about $257 ive tracked down a few parts that I think will work least sure about the Mobo and GPU here is my rough list Mobo Asus P5G41T-M LX DDR3 Ram Komputerbay 8GB (2 X 4GB) DDR3 DIMM (240 pin) 1333Mhz PC3-10600 / PC3-10666 9-9-9-25 1.5v PSU Corsair CX430 Builder Series 430 Watt ATX PS/2 Power Supply Unit (80 PLUS Certified) or similar higher wattage Graphics Nividia all 300 watt I think (work out cheaper) PNY GeForce GT430 700MHz 1GB 1600MHz 128-bit DDR3 Palit GeForce GT440 (1GB, DDR3, PCI-Express 2.0, HDMI, DVI-I, VGA, DirectX 11.0 and OpenGL 4.1 Support, Nvidia PureVideo HD Technology) Palit GeForce GT520 (2GB, PCI-Express 2.0, DDR3, nVIDIA PureVideo HD Technology) or Radeon varying wattage all higher than 300 i think VTX3D 2GB Radeon HD 5450 DDR3 Sapphire 11191-02-20G HD 6570 2GB DDR3
  12. Like I said its an old PC budget is fairly tight id look at about £160 can get a new CPU,GPU,DDR3 Mobo,8GB Ram 1333Mhz and a corsair 430 watt PSU for that but id like to avoid the CPU so about £150 depends really not 100% sure yet its mostly compatibility help I need
  13. I was having a look at 7 never been a fan of Vista if I can find a copy cheap enough or if a mate has a copy with a working license... like I said going for a new DDR3 Mobo and 8 Gig if I can CPU may cause problems though :(
  14. as much as I apretiate the reply I dont think you quite understand I dont need high end just an upgrade preferably without a new CPU all I need to do is run MC well on a x64/x128 (sphax to be specific) on far render and perform well for general home use (Does that now could use more ram hence the new mobo and 8GB)
  15. well Ive been planing on upgrading my 5 year old zoostorm for a while now and now ive got round to doing it its just got confusing. Aim: bring the thing up to a better spec and be able to run minecraft on a X64/X128 TP (Sphax to be specific) on far render (Using optifine) without horrible FPS sounds easy? Well I had a look around and found a Mobo that cant decide what socket its got? The offender just 2 examples http://www.asus.com/...#specifications http://www.play.com/...00|prd:30298100 between that and knowing nothing about Graphics cards (Other than integrated are crap and intel are the worst) Anyone want to offer assistance? Budget looking to come in as cheap as possible preferably without a CPU upgrade id say around £150 (not looking for much) Current Specs Mobo http://www.foxconnch...&U=en-us0000220 Graphics Intel 82945G (Integrated) CPU http://www.cpu-world...X80553925).html RAM http://www.amazon.co...47385181&sr=1-2 PSU 250 watt dont know what brand OS (if it matters) Vista home premium Im looking for a DDR3 mobo and 8GB of ram (Id have that sorted but well with the socket issues) a new PSU depending on GPU can get a good deal on a Corsair 430 Watt (probably a 650 too) as I said low budget as cheep as possible I just dont have a clue could be persuaded to change CPU dont have a clue how though so..
  16. well a .zip works on both and it save people the trouble of getting SimplyRAR or similar software
  17. any chance of an X64 version I get really crappy resolutions on X32 might as well use the default tp or spend the time hunting down patches
