  1. Okay, in case you guys didn't see the other thread, I tried to recreate your problem, but it worked fine for me. I have no idea what's up with your stuff, but it's probably not something that's wrong on the technic teams end.
  2. Eh. I don't really have a problem with mojang or notch right now. Things started to get silly with the updates, but then notch stepped down, and we got jeb. Yeah, notch made a shit ton of money, but the way he did it was perfectly honest and legitimate. As for his stance on bugfixes and such, Mojang has been way better in that area than much larger companies *coughfuckyoubethesdacoughcough* What i think a lot of people miss when they talk about this subject is that Notch isn't a detail guy, and never has been. Minecraft started as this broad idea "what if every single object in the entire game was something you could use?" And once notch had all the framework for that game set up, and he tried to do details, that's when things started getting awful.
  3. Google can help you there, There are numerous tutorials on changing Item IDs. Care to post results when you're finished? I'd love to play a server with planes in it. Might even go so far as to even host one.
  4. Yeah, i think you're missing the point... I don't want to give people the option of waiting for help, and i CERTAINLY don't want to encourage people to set up TNT cannons in front of my house. The punishment isn't for the trap not being lethal enough, the punishment is for the trap actively preventing someone from playing the game.
  5. Except that in a server, there's a possibility of people calling for help, and having a TNT cannon dig them out, or even of having a moderator decide that a trap that requires 4 hours to kill is unacceptable, then teleporting the victim out.
  6. Could go either way. We have a new save format, so worlds may or may not be convertible, but on top of that, we also got a new biuome, and a mob that only spawns in that biome, so you may want to restart anyways.
  7. It is, but you may have enabled while playing single player (maybe?) otherwise, i dunno.
  8. I don't do that for two reasons. One, it hemorrhages power like nobodies buisiness, because it isn't meant to be used that way and two: If i build a trap with no escape, that doesn't have a realistic kill time, it's possible that it could be considered greifing, by not allowing people to play the game, but sit in my little dungeon instead. Also, no need to worry about self healing, since i have towny protection.
  9. You know that you can edit the CFG to disable cheat mode, right? so that all you can get from it are recipes? also, you could restrict item spawning to OPs, and stop cheating that way.
  10. I haven't tried that myself, but i know that other people on the server have tried it, and the results have been far less than effective. I think what's needed is some kind of EMP mod, an item that uses electricity to cause large amounts of damage to energy based armors, (it would also be cool if it drained energy from energy based tools and weapons, or forcefields and such). It would give a lot more balance to the game, and force even quantum people to make plans and think about what they're doing.
  11. It could. Without being able to replicate the problem, i can't do much to find a solution. Try nuking your install first though.
  12. Oh, no, there IS loot. Otherwise it would JUST be an oubliette, and i'd let people teleport away. my plans include obsidian pipes with redstone input, to take all the delicious drops that are left behind. And outside of quantum armor, the trap is currently VERY lethal. Under 10 seconds to kill anyone in Nano or less.
  13. Yeah, you're a bit late with that. That isn't the issue, the issue is dealing enough damage to completely discharge the quantum chestplate. It would literally take HOURS of tesla/gunfire to achieve this. @wudzer I'm playing in terranova, so EE is totally disabled (thank god) because otherwise, i would be completely discouraged from building aboveground, for fear that some invincible megagod would realized that he could just waltz in and take whatever he wanted.
  14. Without swiftwolfs rending gale, or actually being allowed in my base, there is no chance of escape from the hole, that much i know. unless you're part of the same faction as me, you can't build or mine there.
  15. I just tried a bunch of things, and so far Quantum armor seems GODDAMN BROKEN. i sat for 10 minutes in a hole getting peppered by blunderbuss shot, and there wasn't even any visible degradation in the power level. I'll try the tesla coils next, but im beginning to think that quantum armor is just the "okay, everyone else can just give up now" thing.
  16. Re: why wont tmi work? That's Hank. He doesn't speak very good english, but he means well. If you speak Russian or German, he's an expert on duck removal.
  17. On that subject, i have to admit how grateful i am for that. Before technic got forums, I had to go to MCForums for relevant talk about the mods. I've almost made a full recovery now.
  18. Google Translate Strikes again! Hm. Have you tried COMPLETELY deleting the launcher in its entirety? including the thing on your desktop? Have you tried reinstalling Java? Tried temporarily disabling your firewall?
  19. I doubt it, i avoid other tumblers like the plague. I always DID hate the circus[/pun]
  20. I have excess diamonds in Terranovo. I could make you a fully charged Full Nano Suit, and then forget where i put all that coal.
  21. You can jump up, and land on the block that was smothering you. I've used it to escape tunnels in the desert many times. And you can keep doing it, so puching a column of rock onto their heads would probably give them a ladder out of the hole >_>
  22. Yes, but not to APPEASE you. Just to express my displeasure, and because my delicate little feelings would be crushed if someone else got the last word.
  23. Re: why wont tmi work? I still disagree. Every time this problem has been encountered, the root cause is invariably waterfowl in the central processing core. A quick call to the manufacturer can usually resolve this issue, but does anyone listen? NOOOOooooo.
  24. Okay. When i get home i will check it out. If i can replicate your problem i'll find a fix for it.
  25. Your question has been answered. It may in fact be possible but NOBODY is going to do it for you because we like the launcher here. Nobody cares that you don't like it, and noone is going to expend effort to appease you.
