Then perhaps the answer is to write a .bat that opens two separate bats. One to launch the launcher, the other to deal with ram, and the java priorities.
-
Would i be wrong in assuming that you could change the target of the the 2nd .bat to the technic launcher, instead of the minecraft launcher?
-
If you tell people exactly what it is you want to do, there are probably ways of making it work with the installer.
-
Well, there you have it folks, actually working towards your goals and desires is "funny"
-
Or there's good old fashioned hard work. If you want to come wash my van, i'd give you a 20. Why does someone have to give it to you? i guarantee you can find someone who needs their lawn mowed, car washed, or some other kind of odd job. Craigslist is a resource, and so are the billboards at local colleges.

It's really not that difficult. besides, you should get a new network card anyways, it's not like the only thing you'd be getting it for is minecraft.
-
Except that a lot of it wouldn't work, and then you would have shitty mods right along with your decent mods. besides, if its all so shitty, why are you making a big deal about not being able to download it?

Technic Launcher: Agelian is the Jesus of Technic
Jay? replied to KakerMix's question in Technic Launcher
People have problems every time a program changes launchers. It'll all quiet down once their computers are updated, and the basic issues are worked out. -
[pure conjecture]Then maybe the fact that it isnt there is WHY it's crashing.[/pure conjecture] I'll check if i have it later tonight, unless someone wants to in the next couple hours.
-
Well, I can understand that. But you shoudl look into a cheap network card anyways, internet is a good thing to have, especially in the modern world where damn near everything we do is involved in the internet. In the mean time, sounds like your only option is to either yank the all the modded data from a friend, or mod minecraft yourself.
-
How about buying minecraft because you want to encourage the flow of new ideas and independently created content? Or because the creator was enterprising enough to find a demand and supply it? I'm not saying that piracy is always totally wrong, i myself often download as a "try before you buy", but really, dude, if you like something, even after downloading it, you should eventually buy it. That's how we encourage people to make more things that we like.
-
Hm. What's the context that it's giving you in? Like, why does it want you to go there?
-
We've moved to NEI. There are a dozen posts asking about this, just go into one of those and look for a post by a hot dog getting covered in mustard. he's posting the answer you're looking for.
-
Are you sure? or do you have your appdata folder hidden? most people's appdata folder is hidden by default. Do you have the newest java? you should try downloading Java 7.
-
1) no, but it will make them think twice before making the same mistake again. Do you think that coddling awful posters every time they make an awful post is going to cut down on the awful posts? of course not. 2) I'm not treating them like adults, I'm treating them like misbehaving children who should know better. 3) So, why are you taking me so seriously?
-
You really should read my posts. I have no problem with what you're posting. I was comparing our posting styles, and remarking on the fact that we're posting in all the same threads. The only thing I've expressed displeasure with in regards to your posts, is how seriously you're taking me.
-
You misunderstood my post. I wasn't saying that you post unfriendly, i was saying that you always post friendly-ish, and i rageface. Hence the good-cop bad-cop reference. Nor was i criticizing your posting style. You really should try not to take things so personally. (now THAT was a criticism of your posting style) And yes, negative reinforcement does work on people, we train people the same ways we train animals, just a little more in depth.

That's actually not unique to microsoft, nor is it overly paranoid. It's part of how antiviruses work, identifying hazardous code and things that are similar to it.
-
You and fluffy playing on the same server doesn't explain why we have posted in almost all the same threads, responding to all the same posts. I too am helping technic players, through a force called negative reinforcement. They do something stupid, like not check the forums to see if their problem has been posted 10 times already, and then i berate them. That causes a negative association with the behaviour of posting stupid shit.
-
Thanks for actually bringing something new to the table. According to microsoft, it only affects certain versions of java 5 and 6, so anyone using technic should be safe. What's probably happening here, is that the launcher behaves in a way that affects how and where java runs, and microsoft sees that as dangerous.

Wow, we have a regular good cop/bad cop thing going here! Except instead of a cop, I'm a murderer. and instead of a cop, you're a disgruntled forum poster. In fact, it isn't like good cop bad cop at all, is it?
-
You should be removed with a hammer.

Also, the series involves time travel, so i resigned myself to continuity issues after the end of the first book.
