Return of Cozi Life; Season 3: Part one: its back With the Yogbox
Jay? replied to Cozi's topic in Let's Play Pavillion
Stop double posting. That, sir is a sextuple post. -
put it in the suggestion thread.

Nah. There are plenty of technicians who arent admins who play the dev builds. Besides, most of the people who have taken enough time to know how the launcher works aren't here posting crappy bug reports. It's the people who refuse to update java or read stickies that cause the mods so much greif.
-
Wrong board, buddy.
-
can some one please tell me how to make this work
Jay? replied to sleepy_sleepy_gnome's question in Technic Launcher
Didn't read stickies, didn't use bug report format. -
I understand your point of view, and i think it would be functional if we had a much smaller community. I remember quite a while ago, when technic was hosted on a wordpress/tumble/other weird blogging tool. I spent so much time trying to help people diagnose their problems, but the lack of any way to enforce posting standards made it completely impossible. Now that we have these forums, and the community is growing so quickly, we need to have a very strict policy when it comes to posting standards, and those policies need to be held up. If they aren't we'll end up like MCforums, with one person endlessly bumping his "it doesnt work" topic until someone is willing to spend an hour trying to convince him o update java, or some other simple fix. TL;DR: There are reasons why the forums are run this way. We try to be fair, but a certain level of harshness is required. That's a good idea. I'm not sure why it hasn't been done before.

Wrong board, no bug report format. Come back in three days.
-
oops, you're right. I spend so much time flitting between boards, i tend to assume that if i'm irritated, im on the bug board. OP Still read the "read me first goddamnit" but not the "before you post a problem".
-
Not necessarily. It's not like these laws are advertised, and if someone hasn't been part of the emulating community before, they probably won't be familiar with the dangers and pitfalls.
-
Except a handful of states and countries where the act of downloading the content from a non-approved source is illegal. In those cases the only legal way to obtain a rom is to have the cables and software to dump the memory yourself.

This topic has been moved to Technic BUG BOARD. [iurl]http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php?topic=6678.0[/iurl]

Okay, here's the low down, guy. Roms are illegal if you don't own the original game, and in some cases the act of downloading it is illegal even if you have an original copy. Technic has a pretty clear policy about piracy "We don't care, just don't talk about it here." Just remember the golden rule of the internet. "Google has the answer."

Yeah, but tell us how you REALLY feel.

Even wearing a birds nest on your head and challenging strangers to duels? Also, How did you read the "Read Me First" but not the "Required Reading"? Did you think that they were the same post twice, just for funsies?

Nah, the bulldozer is pretty strong. Not as flexible or powerful as, say an i7, but better than an i3 for sure. What's concerning is the piece of crap asus motherboard. I hate them with a passion.

My old computer wasn't great, but firefox has had a memory leak associated with flash objects for several versions. Not a big issue if you have plenty of memory, or don't use much flash, but heavy flash games can be a nightmare in firefox. Also, Opera does seem to load pages more responsively than firefox. It's just faster. I'm not saying that firefox is bad, just that it's performance takes a backseat to its customizability.
-
Re: Could this remove the need for a Technic pack? Another issue is standardization. The mod API, even if it works exactly perfectly, will result in everyone having totally different minecraft installs, and the benefit of modpacks will become the standardization of the install so that everyone can play on the same server.

[SOLVED] Issue with Technic Launcher: Load Library failed with Error 126
Jay? replied to Vextor's question in Technic Launcher
Nope. Just in case someone else with Win8 comes around looking for this exact thing, it shall be left as is. -
Nope, opera is definitely faster than firefox, and firefox also handles flash exceptionally poorly. My previous statement stands.
-
Yes. especially if you're using the 128x pack. People are taking it seriously because you're coming off very antagonistically. Also, for the sake of the English language, never use chillax ever again. that "word" is terrible.

[SOLVED] Issue with Technic Launcher: Load Library failed with Error 126
Jay? replied to Vextor's question in Technic Launcher
Re: Issue with Technic Launcher: Load Library failed with Error 126 Out of my league. I Finally got to a point where i can use bbcode without their associated buttons, maybe a week ago. -
Yes, but it's a rather large game, there should be language patches available. Google them. If you don't find any, try modDB. they have ridiculous amounts of stuff. just don't bother reading comments.
-
Erm, it's been translated already. I have it on steam. I.E. there should be english language patches available.
