  1. This is EASY to do It's pretty much a 3 step process. 1. Install the JPortable Java Runtime found on http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/java_portable this will allow you to launch the technic launcher on any (windows) computer, even computers that don't have Java installed 2. Install the JPortable Java Launcher found on http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/java_portable_launcher this is an easy interface to open the technic-launcher.jar in 3. Download the (JAR) version of the Technic Launcher and put it in the "E:/JavaPortableLauncher/Data" directory (replace E:/ with your flash drive's drive letter). Now you can run the launcher by starting it from the JavaPortableLauncher.exe, the appdata folder is automatically stored in the "Data" folder on the flash drive. *Extra Note* if minecraft.net is blocked at your school you will need to launch your desired modpack once on a computer where it is not blocked in order to play "Offline Mode" at school or other locations Hope this helped :D

  4. That post shows the progress made by the original author on their update to 1.2.5. That is really just step 1 in a 2 step process of updating and then PORTING. My link shows the port status of the mods to craftbukkit for use in Tekkit SMP. While that post is a great resource for learning about singleplayer progress, it doesn't reflect very well on the multiplayer progress at all :(

It's a common misconception that minecraft servers (even tekkit servers) need lots of RAM to run effectively, servers that advertise crazy amounts like "16GB MEMMORY ZOMG" are really just kidding themselves, if you want a 15 person server on Tekkit, 1GB should be fine, 20 players and I'd reccomend 1.5 GB, still pretty cheap. I can reccomend HEAVILY the host company Beastnode (beastnode.com) they have amazing and fast customer support and they accomadate the different mods VERY well :D

I use beastnode personally, I've been running a 10 person private server for a while on their "Wolf" package (512mb of ram) you should be FINE on 1gb, at least on beastnode *It's worth noting that we have MANY complex machines and pipe systems as well as chunkloaders and we have been just fine with NO LAG on beastnode with 512mb ram

The launcher jar is fine Since the launcher is an executable Java file, your computer is warning you that it COULD contain viruses and that you should essentially "watch you back" and make sure you didn't download it from a phishing site :/ Most browsers do this for your safety, but Technic launcher is 100% virus free, so don't worry about it :D
  8. "20 bitcoins (or $100): protections + creative mode" Haha, server protistution :/ This is sickening, someone should donate because they like a server, not because they can "buy the server" The moment anyone bought creative mode everyone would leave instantly.

Since the technic pack has expressed previously that they are not updating until all of the mods have been updated to 1.2.5 (http://www.technicpack.net/updates-the-tale-of-the-chaotic-mojang/) here is the official site that shows what mods are already updated. As of right now, it seems not many are. http://mcportcentral.co.za/wiki/index.php?title=Ports_for_1.2.5 Extra Note: The people on the Technic Team can not update the minute all of these mods are ported and updated, they make a great pack that has to have a relative amount of stability, BE PATIENT! :'D
  10. I've seen this happen in PVP servers and honestly, i think its amazing!!! Pretty dynamic gameplay in Tekkit :D

  14. Can anyone give us a list of things in EE that we (server owners) should ban? my players all really want EE, but I am NOT enabling it entirely. What should I disable EXACTLY?

  21. there have been seven downloads on the new gson.jar, apparently it has helped some people :D
  22. Are you using any form of land protection? Factions, Worldguard, Towny, Default spawn-radius?
  23. I don't see anything that could be causing any sort of conflicts :/ I don't know what to tell you man sorry
