  1. Is this on a rented server or home PC? Not entirely sure what the log would be like if someone banned your IP or removed you from a whitelist but does anyone else have privaleges on your server to do that and enjoy practical jokes?
  2. I think you would need an internet connection to authenticate your minecraft log in details. So even though you can connect via a LAN IP to tekkit servers just fine and the data doesn't have to travel over the net I don't think you can fire tekkit up without an internet connection.
  3. well, try increasing the memmory allocation in the launcher to 2gb and try it out again. I know SOME people have issues with optifine and disappearing blocks but i've never heard of a fix for it, so you'd need to pick someone else's brain about that. Also worth just double checking you have the latest graphics drivers installed. Apart from that i'm a bit lost. If it's hapenning in technic SSP as well then the server side stuff is irrelevant because you are getting the same issue single player. It's a graphics issue since the blocks aren't changing, you just aren't displaying them properly and AFAIK optifine is the only graphics display related change in tekkit. If increasing memmory allocation and driver update don't help i'd try a bit of optifine related googling or hoping someone else comes up with something on here.
  4. So, you are placing a wheat farm in the exact same way you did in SSP with exactly the same setup? Are you sure it's powered and has seeds and dirt in it? Also IIRC wheat farms won't build anything unless they have enough dirt to complete the farm in the forestry version in tekkit... I only ask the above because it's often something silly ppl miss that stops features working . Also if you are using electric engines then the slightly tempremental IC2 power grid can refuse to give them any juice at all depending on how they are set up and what is running off the same wire before them. Try using NEI to magic in a wheat farm, 4 stacks of dirt, stack of seeds, a steam engine a stack of coal and a lever. Pop down the farm, engine next to it making sure it points at it (if not use a wrench to turn it to point at the farm), lever next to engine and fill the machines up with goodies. If it still doesn't do anything after leaving it a while then can you tell me if the engine is pumping, if not does it have the gfx effect at the base to say it's got an RS signal but is refusing to run? EDIT: I assume I don't need to say turn the lever on but I figure I will just in case! :)
  5. 6 more questions then.... Are you running a texture pack and what resolution? Are you on a laptop? How much memmory do you have in the PC? Do you have the same problem on vanilla minecraft? Is this hapenning all the time or only when you are destroying blocks and what are you destroying them with? Finally... is your friend getting any error messages at all on his server (esp can't keep up ones) and if you ping him what's the response time? If you have more memmory kicking around then try increasing the allocation in the technic launcher, if you are using a texture pack try going back to vanilla textures and if it solves the issue then look for a lower res texture pack to use. If you are on a laptop then you might need to change the priority given to java by your gfx card. If it's when you are destroying blocks, especially if using anything that destroys them in a non-standard way like a mining laser, red morning star, dest catalyst etc then it could be server lag. Even a lagless server often sees a brief graphical glitch when vaping a lot of blocks at once. If all the above is useless and a vanilla MP server is perfect then you could try deleting your techniclauncher directory and rerunning the launcher to get a fresh install but, to be honest, it doesn't really sound like something got messed up with your tekkit files, more sounds like your PC is struggling to run tekkit or struggling to get hold of data from the server to tell it what blocks are meant to be there for it to draw.
  6. Do you mean the chunks disappear then reappear exactly as they were before or are they disappearing then being generated as new chunks? Is it hapenning on any old random chunk or is it only hapenning on specific ones? Is it actually chunks at a time or just random parts of the map? If it's not chunks but just areas of the map and they are graphically disappearing and coming back untouched then how much memmory do you have allocated to tekki in the options in the launcher and what server are you on? Are you running the server on the same PC as the client and simply overworking your PC (are you also laggy in movement and accessing inventories or crafting items?) Bit more info would be useful.
  7. err... http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/board,4.0.html :)
  8. You should put this on the technic bug board not tekkit (assuming you mean the single player verision not MP) and follow the bug format (versions, log etc.).
  9. Sorry for the double post but check http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php?topic=7831.0 - someone suggested a plugin that they had working to control mob spawns.
  10. Are you downloading plugins which are for the correct version of craftbukkit that tekkit uses? The tekkit server doesn't use the most recent version so any plugins for that version won't work. IIRC the bukkit version used is 1.1 R4. Quite a few plugins have older versions availible. Just grab the one that is designed for the correct bukkit version. I was under the impression most (almost all?) plugins work fine with tekkit. If you are getting the right versions for Bukkit 1.1 r4 and they still aren't working then i'll just shut up and wait for a cleverer person to help you .
  11. You can save schematics with MCEdit and it seems ok with mod blocks. I've moved a few stractures for someone when we changed servers that had mostly EE and redpower stuff in them and it worked fine. I couldn't swear it'll work for everything but I don't see why it wouldn't... Having said that I don't know if MCEdit will cope with blocks that are tracked with dmg states on the same ID....
  12. you are crashing when you load the chunks around your base. How much memmory do you have allocated to java in the tekkit launcher (in options), can anyone else go near it without crashing and what do you have there? Most importantly do you have IC2 machines making noise, a quarry or a cobblestone generator there? If it's IC2 machine noise you can turn it off in the config and that might do the trick (not sure on the details but apparently enough machines in close proximity uses a bunch of system resources), if you have a cobble generator or quarry you might have items spilt all over the floor and your PC can't cope with tracking them all. You'll need to get an admin to vaporize all the items then make sure you fix the problem (dump all dirt, sand, marble, cobblestone and gravel in a lava square, a bunch of recylers or (depending on what MK they are) matter furnace(s). Finally you could ask an admin if they are getting any server side errors before you crash out.
  13. Archangel's smite in pedestals is an issue with EE, not with Tekkit. No way to fix it as far as i'm aware. Other rings work fine in the pedestal in the version of EE used in tekkit 2.1 but I wouldn't advise ever putting a talisman of repair in, your server console seems to go mental with repair related errors. If you just want a pedestal to kill mods use the fire ring in there, it obliterates them and doesn't energize creepers like the lightning one does. Just remember you need to activate the pedestal by clicking on it or a RS signal and they tend to turn themselves off randomly... possible when the chunk unloads but i've seen it happen when I haven't moved away but the day has changed. As far as none of your pedestals working after you destroyed one with a ring in I have no idea why that would be. Whn you place a pedestal can you put a ring in the top slot and does it disappear when you do so? If you can't place a ring but the slot looks empty maybe try clicking on the slot and seeing if an archangel's smite appears on your cursor. I doubt that'll be the case though. If you post a bit more about exactly what you are doing and what is happening that would help. Are other ppl able to use pedestals for example? Also test a pedestal with a gaia ring near some wheat, that way you can test it easily without needing mobs to fry.
  14. Never had a problem with teleport pipes breaking the server but sometimes get gui conflicts that cause ppl to crash when they try and use the pipe's ui to set frequencies. Same goes with advanced wooden pipes.
  15. log in and type /remove items -1 . It will remove all items on the floor. If you get a load being removed then you have an item leak.
  16. if you fiddled with the launcher and it now doesn't work your best bet is to re-download a fresh copy of it , delete appdata\roaming\.techniclauncher and re-run it to get a fresh, unmolested launcher.
  17. You might have an absolute ton of items sitting on the floor after popping out of pipes if that area has quarries in it. Try /remove items -1 as an OP and see if it removes a ton of items. That said... I don't know if it will remove items from unloaded chunks, which would be an issue if you can't load those chunks without crashing out. Other options would be to use something like MCedit to remove all the items on the floor (remove "entities" in MCEdit) or delete the chunk(s) in question and let them get built afresh.. might help to link a log file from one of the clients that crashes in the area in question. I'm only guessing what the problem is and a log would probably help.
  18. In a rolling machine pop 3 gold bars verticle on one side of grid and 3 iron ones verticle on the other. Can't remember which is on right and which left off the top of my head but not too hard to try both options. I think it's IRON GAP GOLD IRON GAP GOLD IRON GAP GOLD but could be the mirror image... Needs to be in a rolling machine OFC.
  19. A large rubber tree needs a lot of room to grow in as well. Something like 3x3 up to 11 high then bloody huge above that for the leaves. They also take a hell of a long time to grow (intentionally so your server doesn't die trying to place too many blocks at once) and bone meal doesn't work on them.
  20. You can't connect to a tekkit 2.1 server with tekkit 3.0. You need to go into options in the launcher and select recommended build not development build. If you are alread on recommended build then I would delete appdata/roaming/.techniclauncher and redownlad everything through the launcher (then make sure you are on recommended build.
  21. Can anyone log into the server? If yes then get them to type /remove items -1 and see how many entities it removes. if it's a lot you have an item leak and your server is struggling to track all the items laying on the floor. What the error means is the server, which is meant to run at 20 ticks per second is nowhere close to that. In tekkit the most common issues are probably a BC pipe leaking or a poorly set up cobblestone generator leaving a ton of items on the floor or an IC2 power loop.
  22. ok, first up the unique side on a transformer is the input, not the output. That's the only reason your LV transformer isn't exploding when you put an MFSU direct into it . MFE -> LV -> Machine is fine or MFSU -> MV -> LV ->Machines but the transformers only work when hooked up right. A transformer has 1 input and 5 outputs.
  23. IIRC it's a bug with the version of equivalent exchange that is in tekkit so it will only be fixed when tekkit is updated, which will be whenever it is done. There might be a version of EE with the bugs fixed that works with the version of MC and buckit in the tekkit pack. If there is then, with some work, you could update the mod yourself. Otherwise I think you'll be waiting for the new version of tekkit.
  24. Probably not much more you can do apart from make a note of what block IDs are used by what mods. If they change when SMP is properly updated to 1.2.5 you'll want to put them all back to what you have now. Also.... if it's about cool things ppl have made then you could always use MCEdit to save them as schematics then slot them into a new world. They might become a bit strange if block IDs have changed but you'll be most of the way to recreating them.
  25. Start MCEdit, select open a level then using the browser navigate to where the server files are. In the folder with the name of your world on it (rather than nether or end) open level.dat and you'll be editting your MP world.
