  1. Just look into your taskmanager how much ram you really have for free use. Having 8GB doesn't mean you can allocate several gigabyte. The value after "free" is what you can allocate to java.
  2. No. I just had the support reinstalling the server now...seems there wasn't any other solution
  3. Hi all, so i have installed forestry and played with some friends. 5 hours later we all got disconnected the same time and can't connect anymore. First i thought, okay, the server crashed, but actually it did not. I contacted my server host and they say network and everything is fine. Now i am a bit lost and don't know what to do. Has anyone experienced such a problem? Thanks for any help!
  4. All the people asking "what is this and what is that"..probably never heard of google or something but there is even a wiki that explains every item http://thetekkit.wikia.com/wiki/The_Tekkit_Wiki
  5. If you don't want to mass produce unused items, you don't need a chest. EMC Source -> Filter -> (if needed) furnace/macerator -> Filter -> automatic crafting table A -> Filter -> automatic crafting table B If crafting table B is waiting for an item of another "production chain" it will not accept any further items of production chain from automatic crafting table A. So it will always only proceed on demand = no waste.
  6. I still don't understand why TC doesn't simply use pneumatic pipes and filters. There would only be a crap ton of transformer or whatever, if the next source can handle and accept all of them. If the following process can't accept more items, no more items are produced. And if you don't want to have the automatic crafting table to be filled up with unused transformers, panels whatever..just block slots with items that are not being used in this crafting table. So you have a crafting table with x slots (rest blocked) and it will only request previous items if it has space to create one and will send out items only if the next automated crafting table has space. So the only thing that happens within this factory is, that automatic crafting table A has to wait till the following automatic crafting table B has enough ressources to proceed. Nothing is wasted.
  7. I don't see why this should be a waste. There are always as many as items crafted as the next automated crafting table can accept. They are stored there, not deleted or anything. "Waste product" for me would be, if the automated crafting table would overproduce items and they would be deleted or anything but that doesn't happen. If by "waste" you mean, that the automated crafting tables are filled up to the maximum, you can easily manage this with timers.
  8. On our server we experienced that gold cable didn't work at all. If Azeryns tip doesn't help, try another cable.
  9. Do you do it that complicated just because you want to try it the most complicated way or why don'T you just use filters and pneumatic tubes?
  10. Yeah EE ruins the game totally. In the end it is like playing creative mode. Me and my friends just did a reset on our server and disabled EE.
  11. Filters + pneumatic tube and you're done. No need for special timings or whatever. Pneumatic pipes can't overflow and if one crafting table has an higher output than the following crafting table can handle, the items just aren't send out from the previous filter. It is super easy. All you have to worry about is putting crafting table/collectors that create items you need several times next to each other, so that you have an overview if you want to change something later. (this is not just bla bla, i build an full automated hv solar panel factory myself, 1 hv panel each 9 minutes)
  12. Weiß ich eigentlich, habs heut früh aber total verrafft XD Danke.
  13. Hi everyone, Sitting at the office this morning and thinking about what i could build next, i had the idea to build this one the, Burj al Arab: The white fascade is illuminative, i want to realize that too. And that is what my thread is about. The technical feasibility. I once build lamps into an 64*64 quarry whole(about 12000 lamps). For the walls i used 1 redstone torch for each lamp. So at the end i had several thousand redstone torches too. At the end, it was lagging like hell and you couldn't play in this area anymore. Now the question, i guess i need less lamps for the fascade than i used for the quarry whole, nevertheless i wonder what whould be the best way to realize the lightning. When filling the quarry whole, what do you think caused the lags? The amount of lamps or is it the huge amount of redstone/redstone torches? Beside glowstone, does anybody have an idea, what would be the best way, to realize that? Are there any special mods for lamps or stuff that could be used here? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Regards
  14. okay okay okay, i got it. Thanks =)
  15. For me the dimensional anchor is working fine, menu etc. works.
  16. 4xinsulated hv cables don't have a limit. I have a hv solar array with ~500.000 EU/t on one line (into mass fabricator) just running fine. The thing is other than directly powering a mass fabricator there isn't a lot what can handle more than extrem voltage.
  17. Use the "Dimensional Anchor", World Anchor didn't work for me too.
  18. It is. I looked it up before posting it.
  19. Add this to your server.properties: spawn-protection-size=0
  20. 1.Just play on a server with people/friends that will never rob your stuff 2. ? 3. Profit
  21. Don't you think this will fuck up my server? XD
  22. With lag i meant massive fps drops like from 1xx to 12fps. We figured it out. The problem was the lamps. We had a whole from a quarry and filled the floor, the walls and the roof completely with white lamps. Took me 5 hours to install all lamps and another 2-3 hours to remove all the lamps XD yeah...but now everything is still fine again. Pipes and stuff doesn't seem to be any problem. At the weekend i built a pretty big hv-solar panel factory (1hv-panel every 8 minutes) and in this area i have still decent fps (arround 40-50). I previously read a lot and only used redpower pipes, filters and timers). And i will never use those buildcraft pipes again..not only because they are causing lag, just because the aren't that smart as pneumatic pipes when it comes to full chests and stuff. Thanks for your time and help guys. Currently i'm looking for another very very big projekt (factory) any ideas? I thought about a full automated klein star omega factory. I know actually you don't really need a lot of them but i pretty like creating complex stuff and factorys. Any cool idea?
  23. What happens if you step into such a whole? Will you die and respawn somewhere or are you fucked? ^^
  24. Hey Guys, i tried a million times now to install Shaders (sonic-ethers-unbelievable-shaders-glsl-shaders), tried the official way with modifying the minecraft.jar, then minecraft just crashes on startup. Tried the "Tekkit way" and copied the files from minecraft.jar to modpack.jar after all steps i can start tekkit and login to my server and everything(all shaders work) but it crashes everytime randomly between a few seconds and a few minutes. I'm running standard tekkit server + client nothing else is modded. Could someone tell me how to install those shaders correctly? I saw a lot of screenshots , videos and stuff and it seems to work for a lot of people. I don't know, perhaps they modded the needed files in another way..i don't know. I would be thankful if someone could help me here, as everywhere else they say "use standard minecraft" but i never want to play without tekkit again, love it too much.
