Can I install my own mods to the techniclauncher?

Question

Posted

First of all, this is my first thread so I apologize if it's in the wrong place.

I've had some major issues getting mods installed into my vanilla minecraft, so I was wondering if I could manually add mods to my local technic launcher. Can this be done (without breaking ToS,hopefully :D)? If so, how? Thanks

If you mean adding your own modpack for the launcher to load, then no, this is currently impossible.

If you mean adding more mods to your technic installation, then yes, it's totally possible.

Installing mods to Technic is exactly the same as installing mods to Vanilla, you just place any files that should go into minecraft.jar into modpack.jar instead.

This may sound stupid, but should I extract the files (the .class ones) from SomeMod.rar into modpack.rar, or should I just move SomeMod.rar right into modpack.rar? I've been trying to get the XP tomes for Mystcraft and they don't work.

It is the same as if you were putting them into the minecraft.jar (Extract them)
