taighao Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 So I've spent the last few hours trying to get cheats working on my single player world. I learned how to fix the problem from a google search but at this point I've only got the cheats working on new worlds I've generated. It's really frustrating to me because I can be browsing the nei pages on one of my survival servers and spawning whatever I like, but when I go back on my favorite world the pages act like recipe mode regardless of whether or not I set it to cheat mode. It's too late to allow cheats too because I forgot to set that when I first generated the world. I can go to roaming>.technic>modpacks>tekkitmain>config>NEI but I don't see the thing to change to false. My directories are different than other people using windows 7 for whatever reason. I'm really frustrated because I don't want to start over again but it looks like I have no other options. This all started because I don't want to farm ender pearls. fuck this game yo I can't even spawn anything with /give player 1 1 1 because I don't have the privileges. Is there a way to set myself as admin/op? Would that allow me to spawn items they way I want? Quote
Valkon Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 If you set your singleplayer world to be open on LAN, you should be able to set it to allow cheats while doing so. Not sure if that'll be permanent, though. Quote
HeatHunter Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 (edited) if you're just looking for a cheap way to generate ender pearls, maybe you look into EE3 and the minimum stone, as far as i know you can exchange 4 iron ingots for one ender pearl. Later in game you can use mob spawners to generate them Edited February 4, 2015 by HeatHunter Quote
Curunir Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 (edited) I initially found this confusing, too. NEI seems to tie the ability to use cheat mode to operator rights, so without op, you can't use it. In multiplayer, that should be straightforward. But singleplayer mode was changed by Mojang to work like multiplayer internally in (I think) Minecraft 1.6. So now you actually need to op yourself in singleplayer to get access to NEI cheat mode. Valkon described above how you do that if you haven't "enabled cheats" at world generation (which is actually op mode). Edited February 4, 2015 by Curunir Quote

The recipe book still acts as a recipe book instead of a cheat book. Quote

Half the time the fools aren't even carrying any pearls! Quote

But it also requires that you open up NEI options and enable cheat mode again. It's a bit clunky to use, but it works. Quote
taighao Posted February 4, 2015 Author Posted February 4, 2015 Thank you alchemy. I have a steady supply of ender pearls and I didn't have to cheat. My problem is resolved. Thank you. Quote
