Cant Connect to minecraft.net

Ok it seems to be i have a problem where as i can load up the technic launcher and download and play one of the choices (technic,vanilla,tekkit) but when i close it and load it up again it claims it cant connect to minecraft.net and the tumblr feed is down. I have then tried to use the normal minecraft and confirmed minecraft.net is not down. No matter how many times i try it seems to be the launcher cant connect to the Internet. Thanks for your time.

Sorry, it was a typo. I changed it to what it should be which is use.

reinstall is all I can think of, but try to run the launcher with admin privileges or of the like if you aren't using Microsoft. It might be that the launcher does not have permission to access the internet.

I have allready tried to reinstall it a few times now. And ive tried giving it admin permission.

Toasty, are you using Linux? What Java version? I just got done fighting this battle myself. Make sure you've got the Sun distribution of Java 1.6 and that you have it set as your current active version of Java. That'll clear it right up.

Do you have a firewall (such as Norton Internet Security) witch could be blocking access to the internet via the launcher

If you can login to your normal minecraft you can just edit that Minecraft.jar delete META-INF and get all the files out of modpack.jar into minecraft.jar =D

Easy fix, dont know if its fully working but for my friends it did ;)

This is happening to me but, instead right when I go into the launcher it immediately says our tumblr feed is down and I can't connect. Can anyone help.

I have the same problem, load up launcher, cant connect to minecraft.net, redownloaded loads, but not from the technic site because the links there are not working and have not been for a while, tried all the suggestions, no luck. I think I just need a link that works to download from

Same here. Have tried redownloading loads. The only way I have found is to delete the lastlogin file every time I want to go onto Technic. :(

yup im getting same thing cannot connect to minecraft.net worked ok for like a day and half now wont connect

Download the .5.4.8 exe.

delete your .techniclauncher folder (backup your worlds)

run the exe

run the jar if you need to after that.

If you continue to get the offline mode issue, delete the lastlogin file and try again.

Deleting the lastlogin file solved the issue for me.

it fixes it tempareraly untill it closes and then it says only offline mode and cannot connect to MC.net

Same here. Have tried redownloading loads. The only way I have found is to delete the lastlogin file every time I want to go onto Technic.

You guys need to update your .jars. If you are using the .exe, great! You are fine. If you are using the .jar, then go get the new one on the technicpack.net main page.

you need java 7 installed

you need to go into your environment variables and edit the PATH to point to the java 7 directory.

Also your java has to match your OS. Win 7 64 bit? You need 64 bit Java 7. 32 bit? You need 32 bit Java 7. As a note, you might have to just use the Jar if you're running a 32 bit OS.
