Question

Hi everyone

I've got an issue with the IC2 pumps (not the BC ones). I have one next to a miner, and its storage shows it's full of water, but if I put empty cells in the item slot (above power icon) it doesn't fill them. This is on SMP.

Any suggestions?

It does that, i was wondering the same thing in single player then i hit lava without me there and came back to lava filled cells scattered around, it is working though or probably is. You could test it by building a platform above water or lava and see if it fill the cells.

IC pump works fine, the "water" piston thing on the right will fill when the pump is powered, this is normal and not indicative of having anything to actually pump. You can put it on top of bedrock and it will still fill the thing on the right. If you have the pump next to a miner, then when the miner hits lava or water the pump will start working and will fill cell/bucket. You can put buckets in an adjacent chest, cells must be in the top slot on the pump.

If you want to test the pump freestanding, place it immediately above a water pool and supply buckets or cells. Otherwise it will not pump anything.

This thread was started before the new bug report is required. So yes, OP should include that information, but we're not going to do any retroactive ban crap.

Also, while your vigilance in posting the same boring link over and over again in non-creative ways is extraordinary and mildly informative, reporting a post you think is violating our rules is a craptillion times more helpful when used in conjunction with the same link spammed everywhere.

I usually do report them. I miss some.

I've just hit the same problem again so here's the proper bug report:

Launcher/pack Version:0.5.4.9/2.1.0

Operating System: Win 7 64bit

Version of Java: v6 update31 64bit

Description of Problem: When ever I use IC2 pumps I cannot get them to fill buckets/cells. I've tried placing the pump over water (the ocean infact) hooked upto a generator for power. It works, removes a single water block below it and the 'tank' gague fills. Then I try placing cells or buckets in the box above the power indicator, nothing. I also tried placing then in an adjacent chest, nothing. This is the same when my mate ran the a server on his machine too. This is in SMP.

Error Messages: N/A

Link to pastebin of log: http://pastebin.com/34pVj01u

Can someone help me with this as filling cells by hand is very very dull...

So yes, an IC2 Pump will only take the source block of water immediately below it. If you place it over an ocean, it removes this source block and then does nothing, as the source block doesn't replenish itself. If you dig up your mechanism you'll find a water current immediately below the Pump block, this is the missing source block which won't replenish itself if the water is more than 1 block deep.

To use the IC2 Pump in this manner, place it over an infinite water pool (anywhere over 2Wx2Lx1D or in the center of 1Wx3Lx1D).

If you'd like to fix the build you have now, then just add blocks below the pump such that the water is only 1 block deep.

Thanks for that, it got the pump working, but only 1 cell of water. After that the blocks around the pump target block turn into flow blocks and it refuses to pump and more.
