In my opinion, until the mod is better coded not to cause lag, it should remain gone. I don't think I'll ever allow it on any server I run though. It's a tool for lazy people. Quote

On my SSP the crafting table III works without a problem, maybe you should give your mincraft more RAM? Quote

stringburka Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Amount of lag depends on what you have in your inventory and other things. Sometimes it lags more, sometimes less. From what I've understood though, it was removed because MinecraftForge has changed the way it handles item ID's and CT3 had not, so they're not currently compatible. I'd like CT3 back, and think this "it's for lazy people" is just a bunch of "BADWRONGFUN". "it's for lazy people" can be said about most features of tekkit - because let's face it, it's easier to build a gold block castle in tekkit than in vanilla. So tekkit is just "for lazy people" who don't want to go out there and mine their over 9000 gold ores! Quote

And therefore *I* won't put it on a server that I run. You're splitting hairs about the 'easiness' of it. Part of any type of game design is difficulty progression. In Tekkit mods, that's handled by two things: resource scarcity, and recipe complexity. Cheap resources lead to low level machines with simple recipes, higher level machines need rarer or more complex ingredients, to maintain the game's metaphor. CT3 subverts this by letting you craft 2 and 3 levels deep into the tech tree. I shouldn't be able to pull fully formed transformers out of thin air, just because I have all the parts to make their parts. I should have to go through each step in the process. Using project tables, or autocrafting lets you simplify and automate, but it still requires the process. And I respect someone who builds an HV solar factory. I don't respect someone who just yanks them out of thin air. With EE installed, resource scarcity is a thing of the past, so the only sort of dificulty modifier left is the complexity. Play the game your way, certainly. But don't tell me that tekkit itself is for 'lazy people' because that's not the same thing in the slightest. If you want the 'free' crafting, why not just switch to creative mode? Again, this is all just my opinion. Quote

Grindle2000 Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 I'm using CT3 just fine on my single player and haven't had any real lag ..but i also play single player with EE disabled so i don't have to worry about the PS bug. I have built almost all of the machines in Technic many times over and while i still enjoy building the large complicated machines i no longer enjoy the tedious process of doing recipes i know by heart. I have no trouble with the mod either being in Technic or not because as has been stated many times before its not hard to add it my self. Quote

Ive got a craftbukkit server running 1.2.5 and I cannot get this mod to work at all.. Ive tried the ported mods for 1.2.5 but the server will not load.. This is my first server and Ive come along way in the last month but this and the nether_ore mod I cannot get to work at all.. Any help is greatly appreciated Quote
