thebalrogking
I'm just wondering, since I'm renting from a minecraft Tekkit server host.
Diabloz
if you 2 don't mind a lot of lagg yes.
Tad_Dekker
Try a minimum of 512, and disable EE you should be ok until you start using mines and quarries.
George
I would always use a minimum of 1GB of RAM for Tekkit.
Colindapieman
I always give 256 per person. So for two people use 512 and that will allow for 2 world anchors with stuff like quarries and minimal amounts of lag! AT least if you use a desktop windows or linux anyways... Expozay
Tekkit requires more server power than your average single plugin bukkit server. I'd suggest at least 1024MB of ram for okay performance.
DaveVT5
I have a two man server with EE disabled. Each of us is running two quarries w/ about 3 total world anchors in use. The server typically reports 890MB in use. Even w/ no quarries running the server sits at 660ish MB. I do use a bunch of teleport pipes. I'm running a 1GB Rackspace Cloud server so the 890MB peak usage may very well be all that is left after CENTOS is up and running.
danlapid
i suggest each one puts in 20$ or even 10 and buy a couple gigs of ram, even with a 32 bit system you can have about 3.3 gigs of ram (if you put in 4gig) and you can stretch the system to 1.5g for the server and 1.5g for your client
HaoSs
i runned a 5 slot server on 256 mb a wile ago. if you don't go to far away from eachother its playable. but expect the console to be full of " can't keep up " I have a two man server with EE disabled. So we've added two additional people. They're just starting out and haven't built any complex machines, reactors, quarries, etc yet and the server utilization is pretty much the same. Not sure how many more ppl can be added with similar results (i.e. no degradation of performance). So the net-net is that 890mb (a 1GB server) seems to be working pretty well for us so far.
