bluechance Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Hi everyone, the other day my friends and I were playing on my tekkit server when we decided to make the rending gale ring and the hyperkinetic lens. The flying does work, but the tornados it shoots out don't. We can all see the tornados but nothing happens when they hit a mob. The same goes for the lens - we can see the ball it shoots but nothing happens. We have plenty of fuel and the other items work, and I was wondering if this was a common bug. Thanks. Quote
dragonseth07 Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 What version of Tekkit are you running on? Quote
TJP12409 Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 EE2 stuff is particularly buggy in 3.1.2. Hell, a lot of 3.1.2 is buggy. You might need a fuel source in your inventory if you want to use items like those. Quote
TJP12409 Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 On a similar note, Transmutation Tables/Tablets no longer work. Ideas? Quote
Torezu Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 On a similar note, Transmutation Tables/Tablets no longer work. Ideas? Updating the server has the tendency to break tablets, for whatever reason. Try deleting the tablet files and letting the server re-create them the next time that player opens a tablet. Sadly, yes, it will mean re-learning all that crap. Quote

In the earlier version the "bug" was that fuel wasnt used, and now it actually works? Seems pluginrelated. Please list that aswell. And a wildshot, have you tried this only directly near spawn or further away aswell? Quote
bluechance Posted August 10, 2012 Author Posted August 10, 2012 Im positive I had a fuel source - aeternatis fuel. We can all see the thing it shoots but once it hits nothing happens. We can hear the sound too. For plugins, I have all the essentials (except group manager, which seemed to bug out the quarries) and dynamic ban. Later I added disguise craft and voxelsniper, though it wasn't working before I added those so I believe its unrelated to those two. Should I try deleting all the plugins? Oh, and yes, Ive tried it close and further away from spawn. I haven't tested all of the items, but those are the two Im sure about. Also, the transmutation tablet seems to work just fine for me... Quote
Sp0nge Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Hmm, i would have tried to delete the playerfiles (does this happend to all players?) and reinstall EE. There are also some "use options" in Essentials, see if you cant find taht in there, and see if those items are for some reason added there on usage restriction. Quote

Honestly I have like 10 stacks of RM sitting around rotting... I think I can spare two klein omegas for a alchemical tome if I need to. Thanks for the tip. Quote
TJP12409 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Erm... one thing. Where are the Trans-table files? Quote
Sp0nge Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 In the subdirectory called "Data" of your worldfolder. It has both the bags and the tabletinfo there. Quote
DJ PON3 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 I always thought that pressing R with the philosopher's stone was supposed to transmute mobs, and that hasn't worked in 3.1.2 for me anyways. In earlier versions I could, does it need fuel or something now? Quote
stringburka Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 DJ PON3: I think it takes about one glowstone per transmutation, so you need either glowstone or a charged klein star in your inventory. Quote

Thanks didn't realize, never enjoyed carrying klein stars around as they're expensive plus I fall in lava far too often (I realize there are items that negate lava damage but that sounds too gamebreaking o.o ) can things pull energy from the klein star from inside a bag on your hotbar? Quote
DanielJin Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 You can pull energy as long as its in your inventory, don't think it works in bags, though. Quote
DJ PON3 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Ok, was worth a shot, if the bag dies then at least I only have to make a new bag, instead of a new klein star. Hmph.. guess I'm going to be making some gamebreaking items or I'll kill myself re-forging klein stars. Quote
TJP12409 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Lava protection isn't game breaking. Free spammable lightning? Thats game breaking. Quote
TJP12409 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Erm, In the subdirectory called "Data" of your worldfolder. It has both the bags and the tabletinfo there. Where would I find this for the server that I'm on? I am not a modder by any stretch of the definition... Quote
DJ PON3 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Lava protection isn't game breaking. Free spammable lightning? Thats game breaking. The lava you find while exploring or strip mining is a lot harder to deal with than the mobs you fight are. I die 10x more often in lava than I do in a creeper explosion or skeleton arrow. Thus I'd never die if I used something that negates lava damage. It isn't truly game breaking but it is game changing. What item gives free spammable lightning? I don't think I've came across an item like that.. Quote
DanielJin Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Why would you die in lava so often? Don't you know the ancient minecraft rule "never dig down"? Quote
TJP12409 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 The Abyss Helmet from EE. Press "v" to activate "offensive mode". Proceed to MASH the "r" button to have lightning strike where your cross-hair is. If you SERIOUSLY want to avoid lava while mining, mine above Y level 10. (there's a number in parenthesis beneath your minimap, thats the Y level of your head. Dig at 12 and you shouldn't be mining straight into walls of lava anymore. Just... watch your step, you dont want to fall DOWN into the lava) Quote
DJ PON3 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Why would you die in lava so often? Don't you know the ancient minecraft rule "never dig down"? Lack of caring, a lot of times I'm holding "w" while taking a drink and don't have ninja reflexes and just suicide in lava. Plus I never followed that rule. & @TJP12409: Meh, Find too many diamonds at Y=9 so, I'm good . And to attempt to not kill my fun on minecraft I haven't used any modded armors mainly since they make you nearly invincible.. Quote
TJP12409 Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 *activates whining* But the whole point of Technic is to achieve God Mode as soon as possible! *regains composure* In all seriousness though, I get where you're coming from, what fun is a game when you're nigh invincible? Quote

I'll leave the whole "Ascent to godhood" idea for WoW and such. Minecraft is to diggy diggy holes followed by drinking lava. Me being stupid is half the reason I suck at hardcore mode though. I guess Tekkit armors would be useful for hardcore though, now that I think about it. Gives you a sense of security if a lava moat around your house isn't enough :3 Quote
