Nuclear reactor not producing any power.

Question

Posted

Playing on a defualt tekkit server.

Nuclear reactor->HV Cable->HV Transformer->Gold cable.

Nuclear reactor->Gold cable.

When I check batteries or use the EU-Reader, no power is made.

Am I doing something wrong or is it a bug with 1.1?

HV cables are hard to see, but in the back.

There is no redstone accept an off torch. The reactor does turn green so it is on. Or so I think.

Odd, its still not working.

It wont give it any power at all.

Unless I break and replace the high voltage transformer while the reactor is on, in witch case it will give 9eu on the input and 0 on the output of the transformer.

Has this happened to anybody else?

Yes. Something is definatly wrong with nuclear reactors on SMP.

I build an exact replica of the reactor using Technic instead of Tekkit and it works just fine.

Hope this gets fixed soon.

Same issue here.

yes, we are seeing this as well

the reactor intermittently is working fine and if you watch it tick for 20 minutes it fine, but you leave for a little while and come back and it is still ticking and consuming the cells but is generating no power...you pull cells and replace them again and it still generates no power.

I have yet to find a why to get it generating again, seems if I wait long enough to replace the cells it starts working again.

I have a chunk loading block under it and it still seems to stop, and I am pretty sure I have had it stop while I was looking at it once as well, so not sure what is going on with it

Things you could try:

Connect the reactor to a mfsu with glass cable. Don't put it next to your reactor, the mfsu can output a redstone signal under certain conditions. Then have a look if it still stops working.

If that does not work, then try placing the reactor somewhere else. There was a bug that the reactor won't work properly if it is placed directly on a chunk border if the reactor is in one chunk and a chamber in another chunk. No idea if that was fixed.

I'm experiencing the same issue with the casuc ice reactor I'm trying to build... The reactor lights up green, ice blocks are being used, but no EU output on the cable that goes to the HV transformator...

- I checked with worldedit for the chunk borders, it's in the middle of a chunk, so I didn't move it.

- Adding a glass cable to an MFSU a bit away from it doesn't help (still 0 EU/T)

- unloading all uranium and skipping the night while sleeping doesn't help either

Additional information:

- Screenshot of reactor: http://puu.sh/q80L

- Running latest tekkit version (using launcher)

If you have a solution that I could try, let me know! (If there's more info missing, let me know too, I'll provide it asap then)

I've found this in the Industrialcraft forum bug section: Nuclear reactors not working

Seems like a bug of mcforge. There is also a workaround in that thread, maybe it works for you.

Will be rebuilding the entire reactor and energy storage part then I assume (wasn't the biggest work in the setup luckily). Hopefully that will solve the problem.... (An ideal time to test out how good my shell will protect the other part too ^^)

Browsing through the IC2 Bugforum I've found another bug. Apparently the redstone state will not be saved when a chunk unloads and reloads again. So the reactor will run when the chunk gets loaded again even with a redstone signal. Keep that in mind when you start that casuc reactor to prevent big bada boom ;)

In the meantime I got an answer in the other topic that solved my problem (used the wrong side of the MFS unit -_-), but I'm planning to let it run only now and then while I'm in the neighbourhood, and yeah, read about that already (though an explosion would only destroy the reactor, just tested it :D)

Ok ladies here's your fix. First, you can't put a nucular reactor up with a hv/mv/lv transformer. Craft some glass fibre cables and connect the reactor up to an mfsu. Next use a mv transformer to lower the power output of the mfsu. I have a tekkit server and I know what I'm talking about. Many users have this issue

Hi folks this is my first post to something like this. I hope you can help. I too have no output from my reactor even though I have removed all cables from the reator there is still no output. I buillt a reactor at the same site without chambers or enclosure and it worked fine powering all 3 transformers, msfu, mfe and battbox. I just do not understand it. PLEASE can anybody help.

Halelooya!!!!! Update I fixed it. Here Goes first reactor must be connected to ground, next HVT must be connected and the right way round ( It will run without ) Lastly the MFS must be connected and the right way round and a bit away from the reactor. If all these things are correct it will output to the MFS but strangly I could not get an EU reading at the reactor. I hope this helps somebody. Many Thanks GRANDAD60
