GingaNija Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 I've decided to make a mod for tekkit that I'll eventualy add vehicles to. I want to know what software you need to make a mod that would be compatable with tekkit? Quote
Pulse95 Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Notepad++ and you need to know how to code Java and how to add sprites and textures to your code. IE if I created a Dildo.class file I would need figure out how to get a Dildo sprite to work with it. Quote

saintnicster Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Should I get a book on jarva or use the open sources at minecraft forge? If you don't know Java, and you want to make a Minecraft mod, then that is step 1. What kind of programming background do you have? EDIT - Learning java is your step 1. Whether it comes from books or online tutorials is completely dependent on your personal learning style. Quote

Please slow down and use correct spelling, grammar, and proper punctuation. Only then might we be able to correctly parse your statements. Quote
GingaNija Posted August 29, 2012 Author Posted August 29, 2012 Sorry I mean that I'll be able to release first version of the mod in about 9 mouths. Quote

GingaNija Posted August 29, 2012 Author Posted August 29, 2012 Can you take some coding from other modders, it will help a lot with vehicles and aircraft. One day scenes like this might be a common sight on servers with massive factions and towns. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Fs8gsYKkIk Quote

GingaNija Posted August 29, 2012 Author Posted August 29, 2012 ('Commentary') The MiG pilot fires on the Town of people block but then the server goes down because of chunk loading failures! Quote

Xylord Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Should I create a thread/ source for this for future developments? I'd wait until you have something to show before making the thread, else, it'll die pretty fast. Quote
