modpacks will not launch

I'm completely new to technic, and I'd like to try it out. I installed the launcher and the tekkit legends ones, and when I clicked play, it showed it compiling at the bottom and then... nothing. I had also tried with hexxit and blightfall too, and I don't know what's happening. can someone please help?
