Alchemy bags do not work?

I thought that alchemy bags would work on a smp server that is NOT in offline mode.. but they do not seem to be able to share space between players.

Is something wrong, or do I just misunderstand it :\

You misunderstand. Each alchemy bag color is like a new inventory for the player, it can't be shared.

How about the enderchest? Can that be shared between players?

You may be thinking onabout Ender Pouches. Those do share an inventory between all players on a server, depending on the color code

EDIT - Derp, looks like I posted as you replied. Yes, (mod) Ender Chests and Ender Pounches share inventories between players, as long as the chests have the same 3-color code.

correct me if i am wrong, but dont Alchemy bags change by player too?

so if a friend and i BOTH have a blue bag, we see different items.
