whenever I try to loggin to my technic launcher it says that I need to purchase a minecraft account to play?

MacBook Pro isn't an operating system. To get the java version, open terminal and type java -version. Also, there is always a log.

And yes. You purchase minecraft to be able to use the Technic Launcher, just like normal minecraft itself.

That is not a bug, it is a useful feature. You need a "premium" (no such thing but that's another matter) to use the packs because when t=you input your username and password, the launcher sends you info to Mojang's servers for authentication.
