What is this? (Technic 1.2.5)

I found this while out hunting with my blunderbuss on technic - what is it? It has some kind of portal in the middle and a lot of pumpkins.

That's a Thaumcraft monolith.

We really need a official technic texture pack that comes enabled by default which labels these things. Since they are the most common item that people ask about and their are hundreds of threads about people finding them.

Indeed. And the fact that there are a bunch of pumpkins there is just because it spawned in a pumpkin patch. Consider yourself lucky.

Don't listen to these guys. That's a super secret easter egg called the pumpkin throne. You need to find four special crystals underground: water, earth, air, and taint. put them in any random order into the base of that structure, and Jack Skellington will spawn and give you christmas gifts.

purhaps we should just change the monalith's texture to this is a moalith...but crystals in random order into slots, don't wear the goggles of reveling when looking at this
