Block ID error.

If you can change ID settings, then great! Do that.

Otherwise, backup your saves and clear your cache.

Changing one id won't help. ID Resolver comes included in the pack and it sorts out all of the block IDs. What that means is that the devs didn't need to reassign the IDs so even if you fixed that one, another would pop up. This issue is almost always caused by a partial/corrupt download. That issue is almost always caused by having a troublesome AV that blocks some of the download without telling you. Turning AVG off and redownloading the pack should fix the issue.

I'm fairly sure ID resolver isn't in Tekkit, because auto-assigned IDs would screw up in Multiplayer.

Fair point, however I would not recommend changing the ID's yourself. Stick to redownloading/clearing cache. Seeing as the ID's should already be formatted correctly, combined with the fact that he is not getting past the Mojang screen, I think it is safe to assume he has an incomplete download.
