Error Downloading File for the Following Pack

I have been having this error constantly for the past week and it has never done this to me. The error says

Error Downloading File for the Following Pack: Vanilla

Failed to download "url"

Please consult mod pack author

 

I tried to download vanilla because that is the most basic thing to download and  it still didn't work. I also tried to uninstall the whole launcher and install it again, but there is no way to uninstall it.

Ok this might make it more clear. When I try and download any mod pack, even the default ones. It gives me that error after it downloads. No mater what mod pack I try and play the same thing happens every time.

try disabling your antivirus and / or firewall and try again

I tried that it still didn't work
