Can't open launcher

Type of bug: Launcher bug

Reproduction rate: 10/10 (it never opens)

Steps to reproduce:

Go to the site to download the technic launcher

Click download for windows 10

wait for the download to be ready

click to open the download

*null.exe*

Expected result: The launcher should actually open, so that I can use the application that I paid for.

Observed result: Nothing happens. The launcher never opens.

Logs: The application doesn't even start.

Additional comments:

I bought minecraft just so that I could download some mods and play with friends. I really don't want to have wasted almost $30 just because the mod downloader wont even open. Please send help! I've looked through a variety of forum questions relating to mine on this site and reddit, but every question similar to mine has yet to be solved.
