I'm new to technic and want to make a mudpack - I started one and it didn't work.

I created a file, put two files in there saying 'bin' and 'mods'. I put loads of mods in there, then selected bin and mods and selected 'add to archive'. I then went to dropbox and did the link thing.

When I tried to download, it said it couldn't find it.

When I started putting one mod in, it said the same for all mods: (attached the file)

Help?

so many things wrong you did there.

1) you did not test the mods in a clean client. You run one mod on minecraft. Then close the game and put another and again start minecraft. You do this for every single mod to see if there are any conflicts and see if the mod(s) works.

2) when you run a mod once, a config file is born. this file belongs in the config folder that you include in your modpack folder. So no, you do not upload 2 folders, you upload 3 - bin, mods and config

3) the end of the dropbox address needs to end with a dl=1

redo it all. download the mod, run it by minecraft once and a config file needs to generate. then put another mod in and run minecraft again. If you have 50 mods then you run minecraft 50 times. :psyduck:

Ok. I understand step 3 - but is there anything that can walk me through step 1 and 2? How do you even run a mod? How do you test the mods in a clean client?

Technic launcher has the vanilla "modpack" (it's just vanilla). That is the clean client. You choose a version for it - 1.7.10 or whichever - click and download it. Start a world to see if it works.

Now follow steps 1 and 2

also - looking back to this - you talk about running the mod... I installed the mudpack and installed it - now what? and also where is the config file born?
