GoldenLion Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 (edited) Hi, I decided to play Tekkit Classic, but it had no sounds at all except MAtmos sounds.I read that the launcher doesn't download old sounds or something etc, but I see some Tekkit Classic servers that got players and I don't really think they are playing there without any sounds. Does anyone have a fix for the sounds by any chance? I'd really like to play Tekkit Classic again. I actually tried a really old launcher to try 1.5.2, but I didn't have any sound either so I thought maybe it could be my PC? But I don't really want to believe that as MAtmos sounds work just the game sounds don't work. I'm on Windows 10 if that's a necessary. Any help would be appreciated... EDIT: Found a fix below. Moderators Munaus Posted March 28, 2018 Moderators Posted March 28, 2018 Mojang removed their support for older versions. This includes sounds and skins. https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/WEB-985 it has been reported, but they don't care. They expect everyone to play their up-to-date vanilla versions. edit. This has also been reported in our own Bug Reports sections. please read http://forums.technicpack.net/forum/62-bug-reports/ before you make more topics of the same thing Quote
GoldenLion Posted March 28, 2018 Author Posted March 28, 2018 (edited) OK, I read on another forum that someone had exactly the same problem, but someone gave him the sound files and when he put them in the resources folder the sounds started to work. I googled and found a video of someone giving a link to a modded .minecraft 1.2.5 folder so I decided to download it and pull the resources files out and put them in tekkit resources folder and now the sounds work. Here are the sound files if anyone else has the same problem. Edited March 28, 2018 by GoldenLion Quote

I put it straight in the resources folder and it hasn't worked. do you need to extract the file too, or can you leave it as a ZIP? Quote

You need to extract the zip, then just move the folders from the unzipped resource folder into Tekkit Classic's resource folder. Quote

It should work, that fixed the problem for me. All you need to do is drag and drop the files (downloaded from the link above) in the screenshot below, into your tekkit resources folder (pictured on the bottom). Quote

Yeah, kinda a pain its not just a .zip, which you can open on most platforms without any other program required. Quote

I had to go into the sound folder on the Tekkit classic and delete the folders that were in there and replace them with the sound files that were downloaded. Thanks for the link!!! Quote
