havocx42 Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 mIDas *GOLD* v2.5 released: mIDas *GOLD* is an enhanced version of mIDas by pfaeff. "mIDas is a very simple open source tool that allows you to change the IDs of certain blocks and items in your world files. You can for example replace all blocks of dirt with blocks of cobblestone if you want to. This tool is especially useful for modders and mod users. As many of you know, the number of Block IDs in minecraft is limited and some mods use the same IDs. It might also happen that Notch introduces a new block with the same ID as one of your mods. The mod would then become unplayable. As a modder, you may want to change your Block IDs for several reasons during the development process, but you can't, because they are already stored in your world files. mIDas allows to change the IDs stored in those files to circumvent these problems. It can also be used to remove certain blocks after uninstalling a mod by setting the target ID to 0 (air)." - Pfaeff on mIDas ------------------------------------- Version 2.5 Improvements: Added ability to enable/disable individuals plugins from the UI Version 2.5 Fixes: Should open less file handles on large maps now. ------------------------------------- Version 2.4 Improvements: Plugin support for conversions. A Plugin to support BuildCraft pipes. Better logging so I can help people fix problems. Version 2.3 Improvements: Allows the conversion of damage values Version 2.3 Fixes: Player inventories are converted again. okamikk Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 can you explain further what the mod actually does?
Neowulf Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 It's a tool, not a mod. It runs through a world save fixing block and item ID changes, converting the world to a new config setup. If you don't convert a world when your config changes you could end up with veins of monitors, marble trees, all your tubes replaced by copper ore, and everyone's nano/quantum armor replaced with cookies. Assuming the world even bothers to start.

lukeb28 Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 end up with veins of monitors, marble trees, all your tubes replaced by copper ore, and everyone's nano/quantum armor replaced with cookies. That would suck but is hilarious! Is this a universal tool for all the mod packs or just tekkit -> tekkit lite?
Neowulf Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 that should definately be put in the OP True, but entirely up to havoc. mIDas is very well known and is featured in every server upgrade/migrate guide I've read. Is this a universal tool for all the mod packs or just tekkit -> tekkit lite? Anything.
lukeb28 Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Anything. Very Useful then. With everyone jumping into tekkit lite this should be stickyed!
havocx42 Posted February 18, 2013 Author Posted February 18, 2013 Very Useful then. With everyone jumping into tekkit lite this should be stickyed! I agree! Mainly I am bumping to let people know about the new update
