After reading the recent news about the lacking interest of the founder of Technic I now have the question:

If tomorrow Technicpack.net is gone for good, is there a way to still play the mod packs we downloaded?

I know there was once (still?) a flag to be able to play vanilla Minecraft offline, but I never bothered with it and have no idea what the current situation is.

Do we NEED Technic to be existing to be able to play the mods we have? If no, how do we start it then, I'd like to try at least once. If "yes", Technicpack.net and its infrastructure must exist for us to be able to start the mod packs, is there a way to change that?

I was always happy with Technic and after testing one or two alternatives, I always came back to the good one 🙂

But now there comes another question in this context, is there a good alternative to Technic? I am someone who reads the news every x months to find out there is some war going on with Russia and the Ukraine or the USA's new puppet is the old puppet, so I have NO idea what alternatives to something like Technic exist. 😞
