Question

Posted

I have multiple installs of Minecraft on my system and use a bat file to launch, change priority and increase RAM for the game. Just in stalled Tekkit and it will not work the way i want it do. So can I download just the mod with no Launcher??

for each install I have 2 .bat files and there is also 2 .vbs shared for all the installs.

The 1st .bat simply hides the cmd window using the 1st .vbs and then starts the 2nd .bat.

The 2nd .bat processes idle tasks then allocates Ram to Java. Then it launches Minecraft.exe and then starts the 2nd .vbs

The 2nd .vbs changes javaw's process priority to High

Found that thanks Cheap Shot. It doesnt help with the rest though.

On a plus note i think i found away around it. Working in SSP, The server i connect to is having afew issues so cant test in SMP.

Will let you all know if it works

Would i be wrong in assuming that you could change the target of the the 2nd .bat to the technic launcher, instead of the minecraft launcher?

tried that it didnt work lol.

Then perhaps the answer is to write a .bat that opens two separate bats. One to launch the launcher, the other to deal with ram, and the java priorities.

Here's what i did to turn it into a regular .minecraft package with mods:

1. Launch the technic launcher once and let it download everything

2. Go to %appdata%\.techniclauncher\technicssp

3. Open modpack.jar and minecraft.jar

4. Install modpack.jar into minecraft.jar (be careful with folders)

5. Rename technicssp to .minecraft ( if it doesn't let you try renaming it with either a bat file or in command prompt)

6. Nothing, you're done

Technic Luancher has spout code and it is compatabile with bukkit code and you said to move everything from th mod pack.jar but I will tell you that it will never work unless for tekkit. You will have to install mod loader ,modloadermp, minecraft forge, code chicken core and not enough items
