Mooseman9 Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 The quartz grindstone doesn't work with the metallurgy metals, unfortunately. Some other minor things too, but I forget which. Quote
quin2k Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 It's not perfect, but I'm working on a Texture Pack for Big Dig (BDcraft style). Completely optional, but feel free to use it and provie feedback http://bdcraft.net/forum/big-dig-pack Quote
leakcim78 Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 very good pack but Is it possible to replace/add this mod :EE2 (instead EE3 ) ? Quote
theprolo Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 very good pack but Is it possible to replace/add this mod :EE2 (instead EE3 ) ? No, it isn't. EE2 isn't updated for Minecraft 1.4.7 - the latest version is still Minecraft 1.2.5. Quote

zorn Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 hey im just a newbie but love this mod. One question: you included buildcraft and industrial craft. The buildcraft engines seem to keep along the lines of 'you have to do work to get a benefit'. Even the combustion engine running on fuel requires you to refine the fuel, find oil deposits, which run out, etc. A coal engine is simpler, but produces less power. Redstone engines are infinite power, but are very weak. each option has a cost and a benefit, and seem balanced. What I dont understand is, why wouldnt anyone just skip right to the industrial craft items? My friend keeps telling me to just skip right to an electrical engine,a nd some water generating set up that 'is basically fusion power, it's limitless once you get it set up'. I know you didnt make those mods, butyou included both in this mod 'pack'. is there something I am missing with buildcraft vs industrailcraft? It would seem that solar and water power should require a lot of investment, just like in the real world. Combustion and steam engines require time to maintain them, but produce a lot of easy energy, while solar and water power require more investment (one solar panel in real life will run like.. a single lightbulb, making a solar array that powers an industrial furnace should reuqire a TON Of time building a HUGE solar array) This would push people to diversify. Build combustion to get going, but move over to solar as you build up, etc. I also have a bug right now with this mod where my combusion engine 'screen', where I view the inside of the engine, also has the crafting menu on it to the right, that shows all of the available items you can build. This covers the popup, right side menus on a combusion engine. A powered furnace or pulverizer still work fine. And when I try to start a combustion engine, it makes power and heats up, but it does not appear to move, and it will not run anything. I have had it all up and working before, so I dont think it is my setup. Could this be due to the recent minecrarft version update? If not, how would i get help with this? post here? Quote

I know you didnt make those mods, butyou included both in this mod 'pack'. is there something I am missing with buildcraft vs industrailcraft? Maybe there's something I'm missing. A combustion engine that uses oil directly costs 12 iron, 1 glass, 1 redstone, and assorted wood and cobble. Using power converters' ratios, it produces slightly more energy than 7 solar panels, which altogether cost 21 glass, 21 coal, 84 rubber, 70 iron, 42 redstone, 42 copper, and 28 tin. It will produce twice as much energy if you run the oil through a refinery first. I can tell you've never used an oil-based solution because refined fuel lasts FOREVER. You don't have to spend a lot of time searching for new sources. If you want to mine up 10 times as much stuff just not to have to mess with it, that's your choice, but that's it, that's the trade-off. There it is. Also, who cares, this is big dig, the game where you find a vein of diamonds next to your spawn. The point is to try everything with your ridiculous resources. If you're spending time worrying about your most efficient path (to what, I'm not sure), then maybe this isn't the modpack for you. I also have a bug right now with this mod where my combusion engine 'screen', where I view the inside of the engine, also has the crafting menu on it to the right, that shows all of the available items you can build. zorn Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Hmm, ok well sorry if i annoyed you, but i did say I was a newbie. Thanks for the response. I could see that in the normal tekkit or whatever mods, without your big dig mod, saving up for a solar array would be a lot more of an investment. Here are screenshots: This one shows how the crafting menu of items on the right side goes over the pop out menu on the right side of the engine controls, that shows output, etc. This is the setup that runs wrong. I have set up an engine like this before, and i tested this setup on a local server, it worked. The engine puts out heat and power, but it does not move, and the furnace connected to it will not run. I was trying to run one combustion engine with gold conductive pipe to a pulverizer and a powered furnace. I just pulled the pulverizer and put the combustion engine right to it, on its side, and that engine now works fine. Again, ive used the golden conductive pipe before though, and it worked fine. I used it on my quarry with a conbustion engine. this one shows how i pulled the pulverizer away from the wall/gold pipe just to test another combustion engine going directly to the pulverizer. I would think i had set something up, but the crafting menu going over the menu for the engine controls makes me think it was a bug. it ONLY happens with the combustion engines, not with my refinery, furnace, etc. Thanks a ton for answering my question. CanVox Posted April 5, 2013 Author Posted April 5, 2013 This one shows how the crafting menu of items on the right side goes over the pop out menu on the right side of the engine controls, that shows output, etc. I believe NEI is supposed to show up any time your inventory is visible in a GUI like that. I don't think that's wrong. That said, NEI is probably a little confused about when to show/when not to show when it comes to machines from other mods, so I don't doubt it's a little inconsistent. You can hit the o button to hide NEI in situations where it's being a pain. This is the setup that runs wrong. zorn Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 ahhh the wooden pipe! My mistake. The NEI didnt come up like that in the past, but i appreciate looking into it. My bad on the wooden pipe. Quote
AM6644 Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Turn NEI off with "O" Its not *really* compatible with those "side buttons" yet. Quote
Psicraft Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Flowers Under config/forestry/apiculture.conf you have species.blacklist=1232 when it should be beekeeping.flowers.custom=1115 Of course, you already know that that's forestry -> 'wee flowers' compatibility. EE3 Additionally, the game crashes if I pick up a minium stone from my inventory with an advanced crafting table II GUI open. However, picking up a minium stone that's already in the crafting table doesn't cause any crashes. The stack trace isn't very helpful, it's a ArrayIndexOutOfBoundException from within MC's code. CanVox Posted April 14, 2013 Author Posted April 14, 2013 Ha, how'd I screw that up? Okay, good reports, thank you. Quote
Psicraft Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Ah, I'm sorry that I forgot to mention this in the previous post: Dimensional Doors The version of Dimensional Doors you have has a serious bug. As soon as you visit a pocket dimension, hostile monsters stop spawning in the overworld. That's fixed in DimensionalDoors-1.4.7 v1.3.2 Secret Rooms + MystCraft Secret Rooms can cause a crash with MystCraft when a MystCraft dimension is the parent of a Dimensional Doors pocket dimension. It appears reproducible. Worse, pocket dimensions from the overworld can and will link themselves to unstable MystCraft ages. What does Secret Rooms have to do with any of these? I have no idea. java.lang.ClassCastException: com.github.AbrarSyed.SecretRooms.common.FakeWorld cannot be cast to in at com.xcompwiz.mystcraft.world.WorldProviderMyst.updateWeather(WorldProviderMyst.java:350) at com.xcompwiz.mystcraft.world.WorldProviderMyst.calculateInitialWeather(WorldProviderMyst.java:328) at yc.a(World.java:2961) at yc.<init>(World.java:331) at com.github.AbrarSyed.SecretRooms.common.FakeWorld.<init>(FakeWorld.java:31) at com.github.AbrarSyed.SecretRooms.common.FakeWorld.getFakeWorldFor(FakeWorld.java:40) at com.github.AbrarSyed.SecretRooms.client.SecretRooms_client.onWorldLoad(SecretRooms_client.java:80) at net.minecraftforge.event.ASMEventHandler_5_SecretRooms_client_onWorldLoad_Load.invoke(.dynamic) at net.minecraftforge.event.ASMEventHandler.invoke(ASMEventHandler.java:35) at net.minecraftforge.event.EventBus.post(EventBus.java:103) at net.minecraftforge.common.DimensionManager.initDimension(DimensionManager.java:244) at StevenDimDoors.mod_pocketDim.dimHelper.generatePocket(dimHelper.java:641) at StevenDimDoors.mod_pocketDim.dimHelper.teleportToPocket(dimHelper.java:339) at StevenDimDoors.mod_pocketDim.dimDoor.a(dimDoor.java:103) at lq.D(Entity.java:1011) at lq.d(Entity.java:955) at iv.a(NetServerHandler.java:348) at eb.a(SourceFile:136) at cf.b(MemoryConnection.java:80) at iv.d(NetServerHandler.java:136) at iw.b(NetworkListenThread.java:57) at bec.b(IntegratedServerListenThread.java:108) at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.r(MinecraftServer.java:703) at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.q(MinecraftServer.java:599) at bdz.q(IntegratedServer.java:123) at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.run(MinecraftServer.java:497) at fy.run(SourceFile:849) I opened a bug report for you. https://github.com/AbrarSyed/SecretRoomsMod-forge/issues/75 with Secret Rooms. It's equally possible that MystCraft is at fault, as I don't know what the intended purpose of the World object in question is. Ore Dictionary There seems to be a lot of errors with metal dusts that pop up. I believe it's the fault of IndustrialCraft. (Removing that prevented the problem) Side note: It appears that registering a recipe multiple times can duplicate the output, leading to problems like 1 copper dust = 2 copper ingot or 1 silver dust = 2 silver ingot. Resolving Rearranging the loading order of the mods can't completely fix this issue. The closest to working I managed to get was 1 silver dust = 2 silver ingots by making IndustrialCraft and its dependents load last. Possible complication When exiting to the main title, the world won't unload properly. After loading it again, more dust -> 2 ingot problems can appear. Ender Tanks There's some sort of bug with Ender Tanks. I pumped fuel out of one and then it started filling itself up again. I now have infinite fuel. :/ Weee! Flowers After investigating a bit, I think you should consider removing this mod. It makes spawning yellow and red flowers so difficult - whereas there are other methods of getting all the other dyes. addGrassPlant public static void addGrassPlant(Block block, int metadata, int weight) Register a new plant to be planted when bonemeal is used on grass. Parameters: block - The block to place. metadata - The metadata to set for the block when being placed. weight - The weight of the plant, where red flowers are 10 and yellow flowers are 20. Instead of a red rose having a 1/3 chance of spawning with bonemeal and a yellow flower having a 2/3 chance, they now have a 2.63% chance and a 5.26% chance respectively. (Actually it's lower because Redpower also adds a 10 weight flower) Now I've gone and created a creative mode test work and spammed bone meal everywhere and I simply cannot get any red roses to spawn. MinecraftForge.addGrassPlant(pamFlower, 0, 25); MinecraftForge.addGrassPlant(pamFlower, 1, 25); MinecraftForge.addGrassPlant(pamFlower, 2, 25); MinecraftForge.addGrassPlant(pamFlower, 3, 25); MinecraftForge.addGrassPlant(pamFlower, 4, 25); MinecraftForge.addGrassPlant(pamFlower, 5, 25); MinecraftForge.addGrassPlant(pamFlower, 6, 25); MinecraftForge.addGrassPlant(pamFlower, 7, 25); MinecraftForge.addGrassPlant(pamFlower, 8, 25); MinecraftForge.addGrassPlant(pamFlower, 9, 25); MinecraftForge.addGrassPlant(pamFlower, 10, 25); MinecraftForge.addGrassPlant(pamFlower, 11, 25); MinecraftForge.addGrassPlant(pamFlower, 12, 25); MinecraftForge.addGrassPlant(pamFlower, 13, 25); Quote
Hammo59 Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 hey my mincraft wont let me download the herobrine mod so I was hoping you could make a herobrine modpack for me thanks Quote
aldrigviking Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 I'm baffled as to why this modpack has become this popular... but then again, just look at the playerbase. At least this modpack will drag all those bad players away from the other good modpacks out there. Quote

Probably because it's a nicely done modpack and that it's different from other modpacks in the form of worldgen. I personally enjoy it, and I also enjoy Tekkit. I do tend to lean more towards Big Dig though. Quote

It also proves my point. Quote

freakachu Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 And what was your point again? I've played, and enjoyed, this pack. it was that his dick is, at least, 50 feet long in subzero temperatures. Quote
Psicraft Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 The big draw for this is definitely making single player less tedious. Before customised metallurgy, ender pearls were so very annoying. I think the point was that it is too much fun for multiplayer? So what? There's so many hours to just make half the items in this pack. Quote
BigBadWilly Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Why isnt forestry working in the big dig modpack Like i see no bees i see the hives and all just new bees or honey and stuff Quote
CanVox Posted April 17, 2013 Author Posted April 17, 2013 Sorry, what? You see the hives, that sounds like it's working to me. Please do a better job of explaining the issue. Quote
