Daemon_Eleuel Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 One screenshot is worth a thousand words. http://imgur.com/2mHiGv5,y83Umlx,VPuXKWo I have about 60 solar panels, connected with a blue alloy wire to 34 battery boxes. Why the battery boxes don't charge up? I tested with a single battery and it does load, but it's really slow. Aren't solar panels supposed to generate 2 amps each? Quote
Daemon_Eleuel Posted March 30, 2013 Author Posted March 30, 2013 The distance between the panels and boxes is about 15 blocks, so I don't think the cabling is causing the issue. Quote
Industrial Miner Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Maybe you could better show screenshots of the whole thing? As far as I know, the problem might be the max capacity of the cables to transfer energy. Try either more cables at once (seperated) or try to move the battery boxes closer to the panels. Quote
Daemon_Eleuel Posted March 30, 2013 Author Posted March 30, 2013 Re-wiring fixed the problem. Same exact setup but now it works :| Very odd. Quote
Valkon Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 By the way, a tip in case you need more blutricity in the future. If you put a RedPower solar panel on top of an IndustrialCraft solar panel, both will still function, since the RP solars aren't full blocks, so they don't block light. Quote
Daemon_Eleuel Posted April 1, 2013 Author Posted April 1, 2013 Uhm, good to know. Still for now I have 30 or so HV arrays and 16 nuclear reactors @ 2000 eu/t, so I should be fine O_o hopefully. I'll see if i can use your tip for camouflaging purposes since the external part of the house is supposed to look like a small farm. Quote
Valkon Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 The tip was for if you needed more blutricity, not EU. But as for camouflaging, a solar panel with 2 slabs above it still functions. Quote
Industrial Miner Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Surprised someone actually read my tips at the Technical Tinkerer thread. Quote
Markarthian Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Surprised someone actually read my tips at the Technical Tinkerer thread. Oh yeah, I most certainly did. It's quite a handy (also pretty big) list. Quote
Currann Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 It most likely is charging up, just very slowly, especially if the battery boxes are all touching. Because, as you probably know, when blocks from redpower that require power touch, they share the power between them. So with 34-some battery boxes, it will take a while to show significant progress Quote
Daemon_Eleuel Posted April 4, 2013 Author Posted April 4, 2013 No, that wasn't the case. They were just not loading at all, anyway re-wiring made them start. Probably a small glitch or some lag on the server. Everything's working now :) Quote
