medicbrian Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Just curious why these two mods never made it into Tekkit. They were my favorite and I loved using the power resources. Quote
frxstrem Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 As far as I know, neither of these have been updated to 1.5.1 (stuck at 1.4.7) and thus they are incompatible with the Minecraft version off of which Tekkit is based. Quote
kitnie Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 ic2 is updated but the technic guys dont want it back even though alot of people do..... Quote
medicbrian Posted May 4, 2013 Author Posted May 4, 2013 I'm totally lost without it. Can't really grasp how to power things without solar power and such, and I can't figure out how to work the new solar panels in game. Is there a way to setup something similar with joules? Quote
xanthan Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 ic2 is updated but the technic guys dont want it back even though alot of people do..... It's been replaced, get over it, go use TE. Quote
tim condron Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 i would at least like to see red power come back, as the compact XOR gate will compliment the airlocks nicely and allow cool moonbase structures where a rocket launch bay could be temporarily sealed and pressureized to easily service rockets etc Quote
Valkon Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Redpower won't be coming back. However, I recommend you take a look into MineFactory Reloaded's RedNet system. Quote
tim condron Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 ahh well speaking of MFR i dont suppose you have a link to some sort of updated wiki or other help page for that mod? alot of the new items are not showing up well in NEI so i do not know how to use them Quote
Valkon Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 To my knowledge MFR doesn't have a wiki, but you can find most the information you need on it's MinecraftForums thread. Quote
cerevox Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Is there anything less overkill for small stuff? If i want a simple piston door with a lever only a few blocks from the door it seems like complete overkill to use rednet. I don't want to go back to actual redstone dust but for very small stuff like that, it looks much easier than setting up a PRC. Quote
Valkon Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 You only need the PRC if you want to use the RedNet logic circuits. For basic on/off functions it isn't required at all. Quote
cerevox Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Oh wow, now I feel retarded. Was testing with a piston, but the piston was pushing on something that pistons can't move. The rednet cables don't have any visible indication they are being powered which fooled me even more. Okay, this is much better. Quote
