I the conductive pipes i had from my Steam Engines to the Pulveriser and other machines seem to have stopped working in 1.0.6. Have they been disabled in this latest update or is it a bug? also in the interim is there another way to transfer power?

Do you know if the waterproof pipes are ok for shifting oil/whatever?

They're fine. But as an alternative, you could try Liquiducts. They don't attach to other Liquiducts with fluids in them, though. You have to use an OmniWrench or Crescent Hammer to make them attach.

Or you could lay down the liquiducts in reverse. Attach the pipe to the output and then go towards the input.

A lot of BC pipes became borked in the last update, including phase and conductive pipes. Other methods of power transfer are discussed here.

Does anyone know if they are returning? I mean, conductive pipes deactivated just like that, without warning. I have invested quite a bit in phased pipes for them not to work anymore!

They are just bugged, they will probably be back in soon enough. However, you should be using tesseracts instead of phased pipes, redstone power conduits for power instead of conductive pipes, and liquiducts for fluids instead of waterproof pipes. Don't invest into the crappy version of pipes.

If you mean pumping from the ground into them, then yes. Otherwise I honestly don't think so. They seem to have no problem moving fluids from machines that output however far they need to move the liquid.

Do you need a pump with liquiducts?

Nope. Not sure what you mean, though. You can use a Crescent Hammer on a Liquiduct next to a tank, for example, and it will go into Extraction Mode. When powered by Redstone, the Liquiduct will extract liquid from the tank.
