jebus Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Can somebody point me out what level range to find copper? I mostly mine aiming for diamonds , so I mine at layer 8-10 . I have yet to find a single piece of copper in a whole week I've been playing. What layers does copper spawn? Are there any biomes more likely to have copper?
CubeyBooby Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Tin and copper both stop spawning in the deepest reaches. I think you'll probably find most of it around layer 25-40?
jebus Posted May 13, 2013 Author Posted May 13, 2013 yes I tried in those layers and definetly found what I was looking for. Will keep that in mind when I need copper.
Lostonexxx Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Going by information someone else gave me about the spawn heights for thermal expansion ores, the sweet spot for copper and tin is between 40 and 45.
King Lemming Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 You can always crack open the /cofh/ThermalExpansion.cfg and tweak the values. In general, TE ores are layered, it's a bit more interesting that way.

Retagin Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I read on the Thermal craft wiki that copper spawns at something like 75-35.
Calvariae Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 According to my unaltered TE config, coppers spawns between layers 40 and 75. Thus surface mining is pretty effective at finding copper, just walk a bit around (in-game) outside.
