No Treetaps?

I just got tekkit and I cannot for the life of me collect sticky resin, not that it isn't coming off the trees, but I can't create a tree tap. What's this about.

v. 1.5.1 of tekkit.

67 mod active/ 67 mods loaded.

Game Info:

Survival

Cheats

No Bonus Chest

Randomly geneated structers = On

Default for land.

Please help, I am confused.

Tree taps are from IC2.

There's a different kind of rubber tree in tekkit, you can chop down and randomly get rubber from it, it's teardrop shaped. It even works in a planter.

Not random. You get one for every log. 5 logs = 5 rubber

They are also affected by Fortune on the axe. Fortune 3 will get you on average about 2 rubber per log.
