herrozerro Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Hello All! I am running into an issue and I was wondering if you all had ideas. I am trying to setup a MFR tree farm, I have a harvester, a planter and a conveyor belt. I am powering it all with a redstone energy conduit. Here is the issue, I have planted a 3x3 square of jungle saplings and bonemealed it to grow a 2x2 tree. the harvester then processes the tree and the planter replants. however after that the trees just wont grow. I have tried bonemealing it with a whole stack and nothing. I notice that it seems like nothing will grow in the proximity of the harvester. I can get individual saplings to grow about 2-3 blocks outside of the 3x3 harvester area. The only additional mods we have added are Thaumcraft, Railcraft, Secret rooms and bibliocraft. I have seen other threads on tree issues with wraith lamps, but we are doing this outside and not using any kind of artificial lighting. Could there be an issue with MFR or treecapitator? thanks!
jakalth Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 It's the fact that there might be some of the previous tree remaining above the farm. The Harvester can't reach the top 1/5 of a full height jungle tree so it leaves bits of it behind. these bits can prevent other plants from growing below them. At least when a harvester chopped down most of it, not the player. Only option, chop down the rest by hand or place a second harvester high in the air to catch the rest of the tree. That usually help. not always though...
Catts Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 In my experience, its much simpler to just do singular sapling jungle trees with an emerald upgrade on the harvester. I don't even bother with bonemeal because I end up with a lot of trees.
herrozerro Posted October 1, 2013 Author Posted October 1, 2013 Here is a video of the issue. This isn't even about the harvester anymore it seems like my bid trees are broken or something.
theprolo Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Does Railcraft still have that weird tracking block thing which breaks everything? If so, you might want to look up how to remove it (I think you change "tracking block" or whatever it's called's ID to 0), because that could break the tree generation. If you want to test, plant a tree somewhere you've never been, break it, then step on the place where it was before and try again in exactly the same spot. If it doesn't grow the second time, it may be Railcraft.

theprolo Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 You have to find whatever the tracking block's called, and set the ID to 0. It's ID probably isn't 0 already if you haven't changed it.
dwwojcik Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 I did this a little while ago. In the configs I think it's called block.hidden or something.
