Launcher won't sign in and launch any modpacks

Launcher Version: 285

Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit

Java Version: Java V 7 U 45

Antivirus Program: Avast

Description of Problem:

Whenever I open the launcher I type in my username and password and click launch and the launch button turns black but nothing happens. It doesn't matter which modpack I attempt to launch. There isn't anything wrong with my user or pass either because if I intentionally input the wrong password I still get a popup saying incorrect password/username combination.

So I know it's the right password. And I know my Java is up to date. I also know the issue started when the Technic Launcher updated. As it was working 100% last time I played and then today it updated and no longer works.

Is there any way I can use an older launcher build? Or launch tekkit manually without technic?

Tekkit classic is the only modpack I play (but I have tried to launch the others to no avail.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

If it helps I also have custom mods attached to my tekkit (ones not included in the modpack) but they haven't had any conflict issues at all. But I would rather avoid deleting the tekkitmain folder if at all possible.. as that seems to be the closest thing to advice I've been able to find on the forum.

None.. it never actually pops an error.. it just does nothing.. the "launch" button turns black and then absolutely nothing happens. And it isn't even frozen.. I can still change settings, scroll through the modpacks etc. It just never launches anything.

I have experienced this issue myself as well. This didn't start for me until today. Also I have tried deleting the launcher, re-installing. Then I deleted the tekkitmain folder, and re-installed. Then I got rid of the whole .technic and re-installed.

Alas, it still does not function.

Most unfortunate... I was really hoping someone would be able to help.. Sorry you're having the same issue.. seems like the new launcher is causing a whole lot of issues for a whole lot of people...

Same problem. However a bar appears and disappears when i click the launch button. 0% was written on the bar

i to have the same problem i have been trying to fix it all day with no luck and i haven't found any helpful info on the internet anyone else found a solution yet

also deleting and reinstalling java doesn't help same if you do it for the technic folder

Also, I did this originally but didn't post it. The simple first step, turn it off then on again (a simple computer reboot) also did not work.

I tried to launch the Tekkit Lite Modpack and it stopped at loading Version??? and then the bar vanishes then the launch button turns back to normal. But when I try to launch my Hexxit Modpack it launches it with no problems , nothing but the Hexxit madpack seems to work.

Yeah, mine continues not to operate. After all the anticipation for our new theme for my community, it's really a shame for this to happen so last minute. Thank you to anybody who can at least offer possible fixes, etc...

Mine is working now. I updated my java (which there seems to just have been a new update pushed) but it didn't work immediately. After a couple of hours it started working again. So either Technic fixed something on their side, or you just need to make sure you have your java updated.

It would appear it's not actually fixed. I have two accounts you see. My original (when they still let you log in by username) makes it load and work. Meanwhile my newer account (an email one) will still not activate the launcher. So perhaps this is a bug with the launcher not hashing out the email users?

I'm having a similar problem as well but the launcher wont even load the icons for the packs and when i scroll to view other modpacks it just show the whole icon area as the add new mod pack icon.

Just took a gander at the console for the launcher itself, upon hitting "Launch" this is what appears:

I'm having an issue where most of the time I load technic and I can't launch any of my packs. I have the console up and when I click on a pack I onloy get a few lines of info. It says "loading" under the packs but never does. I've found that if I close technic, relaunch it, click ont eh pack on the left and see if I get the additional info. I have to redo this until eventually it loads the info. Last time it took me around 20 tries before I got the additional info and was able to launch my client.

Ok guys. My puter takes a while to load up so I deleted my files and reloaded when PC booted up. Well it actually downloaded the files. However it came up with a error that I was able to capture and submit after I went to launch pertaining to a user file. I haven't been able to replicate it. But at least they have it now. So I deleted and tried again. If you notice when you download launcher it does not bring in the files. I had a friend zip it for me still didn't work on my pc. So its borqued for us.

i just did the same and i am having the problem were the mod packs wont load and i cant sign in, this is what the console tells me

Yea, I'm having the same problems as well. It seems to be that the Technic site is having a lot of traffic and now is crashing a lot. For example when you try to click some web page part of the non-forum site you get the cloud servers are down page.

I have had the same problems with the launcher, and I get this error in the console upon launching.

It might be worth noting that I had previous problems with opening the launcher due to the Mac version of Java, so I launch with a separate file (I got the code from these forums). If I need to post the text from the launch file I can.

Can some of you do me a favor and zip up your .technic folders and put it somewhere where I can download it? That will help me try and reproduce some of your issues.
