Anormalcat Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 I can not take a dump without one of these pirates giving me nausea for like, Ten secconds I cant see any reasoning behind any attack from a pirate giving me nausea, Is this configurable somewhere at least? Even if it is, Still annoying So input on this is appreciated
Moderators Munaus Posted November 24, 2013 Moderators Posted November 24, 2013 Pirates stink. Everyone knows that. Try tossing them a soap or two. And a brush. A soft one... As for config: I dont think that mod (better dungeons, correct?) has a config for mob-AI attack behavior. The only solution would be a) ignore them and their ships or burn them from afar... I would still give them the benefit of the doubt and give those poor stinking sods some soap.

Meh, Whenever i'm struck by a pirate, It inflicts the nausea effect and i think that's pretty damn stupid, Pirate ships are a big enough pain
Punisher Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Get yourself a decent bow with Infinity on it, and annihilate them from afar. That's what I do.
Targren Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 The nausea effect sucks. I don't understand why it makes everything all wavy. Real nausea doesn't do that, as I'm reminded constantly since the damn effect makes me motion sick!
Doomzzday01 Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 I think if we figured out a way to get ICBM into Hexxit we could solve this problem quite easily.
Anormalcat Posted November 30, 2013 Author Posted November 30, 2013 I think if we figured out a way to get ICBM into Hexxit we could solve this problem quite easily. Problem with that, The reason i bother with pirates is they have some groovy treasure
crazytobuildmc Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 STOP THE SWEARING! Try wearing firey armour. Why? It's unique enchantment burns everything that hits you.
crazytobuildmc Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 (edited) STOP THE SWEARING! Try wearing firey armour. Why? It's unique enchantment burns everything that hits you. Don't forget your milk to get rid of the nausea! Also, make sure you have cows nearby, so you have plenty of milk in case of a hit. Edited May 17, 2014 by crazytobuildmc
Moderators Munaus Posted November 30, 2013 Moderators Posted November 30, 2013 STOP THE SWEARING! What the fudge... Firey armour doesn't prevent nausea. And 5-6 pirates could still kill you with the armour on, which was OP's concern. Melee can be difficult when your sight is groggy Edit. Crazy, if the forum gives you an error, just click Refresh on the page. It usually does receive your post, no need to double post

Doomzzday01 Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Milk still stops nausea, doesn't it? If so, lots of cows and buckets/bottles should do the trick.
Anormalcat Posted November 30, 2013 Author Posted November 30, 2013 Milk still stops nausea, doesn't it? If so, lots of cows and buckets/bottles should do the trick. Thats not preventive, and every strike inflicts nausea + it takes time to drink + occupies space that can be used for treasure
_Mataroyale_Modpacker_ Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Eat some oranges, they prevent scurvy.
Doomzzday01 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Thats not preventive, and every strike inflicts nausea + it takes time to drink + occupies space that can be used for treasure They still help, and I think you can stack milk bottles (if those are in Hexxit, I've forgotten).
TheBytemaster Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Thats not preventive, and every strike inflicts nausea + it takes time to drink + occupies space that can be used for treasure I'd install ICBM just for the antidotes. They're stackable, reasonably easy to make, easy to scarf down quickly, and as far as I can see, are the only real in-game solution for this. If I get enough time to, (and I'm talking on the time-frame of maybe in a month or three when I say this), I might try making a solution to this as my first mod ever. It seems like it would be simple enough to do once I got all of the logistics of using forge and such out of the way, and it would be a good learning experience.

crazytobuildmc Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Oh, I think the Nausea from the Pirates is supposed to be a deadly disease called Scurvy that sailors used to get in around about Tudor times.
Targren Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Oh, I think the Nausea from the Pirates is supposed to be a deadly disease called Scurvy that sailors used to get in around about Tudor times. Scurvy is a nutritional (Vitamin C) deficiency. Not a contagion. And it's still a horrible effect. Immersion is one thing, but making me (the player) nauseated just because I got hit with the status effect in-game is crossing the line.
