bombuch Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 So i have port forwarding down (everything is perfect. EVERYTHING) and people cant connect. my brother who is a computer programmer was stumped. The normal minecraft server works and allows people to connect, but not technic. Idk what to do. The server is the newest possible server, and the client is updated fully. Quote
JakeyyFTW Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I'm having the same problem! Someone please help :/ Quote
Forteanly Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Have you tried checking the players who are trying to log on? Make sure their client is up to date, make sure their Java is up to date (Java 7). Also make sure their minecraft is not being blocked by their firewall. Quote
Jacsebalon Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I'm unsure from your original post, but it sounds to me like you updated to Tekkit 3.0. If that is indeed the case, that's your problem right there. The server is designed for Tekkit 2.1.1. Go back to the recommended build (and tell your friends to as well) and everything should work. If that isn't the case, then I don't know what to tell ya. Some more specific information would've been fantastic, though. Quote
bombuch Posted April 25, 2012 Author Posted April 25, 2012 so i checked the build, its fine. I checked the firewall, its fine. People can connect to a normal minecraft server and all. And i have the correct version of java. I still dont know what the problem is Quote
BloodravenD Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 the problem is with other people, they might not have the right java...Make sure whoever is trying to connect is using only the recommended build of tekkit, grab the tekkit files, and set the server up. Shouldn't be too hard. Quote
DragnHntr Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Have you checked if theres any errors on the server when they try to connect, what about errors they get when trying to connect? Just saying it doesnt work isn't a whole lot to go on, it could be any number of things. Quote
Cheap Shot Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Can you connect to the server yourself? Port issues is my guess, either that or people are using the wrong version and trying to connect, but yeah, we've got no information to use to help you here. Quote
bombuch Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 there are no errors in the command window that come up. Everything runs smoothly. And I can connect, but only when using localhost. Not my IP. The port forwarding is fine. I've checked that many times. Quote
bombuch Posted April 28, 2012 Author Posted April 28, 2012 and i was running a server before, however after some update it didnt work. I also made a new computer so that might be it as well Quote
bombuch Posted April 28, 2012 Author Posted April 28, 2012 Alright so i got it. I had two different firewall rules for java w where one allowed it, and the other didnt. Thank you everyone and sorry! Quote
