Modpack Question

I'm about to start on a new modpack and I was wondering if there is a mod that would allow me to divide access to different mods/blocks/items to 1 of 2 groups. I know I can do this with plugins and permissions, but if there is a way to do this without MCPC+ that would be preferable. I want to do 2 groups where you choose at the beginning which path you want to take.

To my knowledge, no, there is nothing that will provide this functionality. It would be pretty straight forward with MCPC+ (as you already mentioned) and I can even think of a few ways that players could make their own choice using signs or command blocks, or some other gimmick.

what we need is an earn-a-mod mod that allows one to progressively unlock mods as they adventure.

It might not be exactly what you need, but you can keep an eye on Disconsented's >ANSSRPG.

Guess it'll just have to be done with MCPC+ but I would like to see what happens with the mod you posted. Looks like that will be quite interesting once it's fleshed out. I can already think of a few uses for it with just what's been posted about it.

I dont think there is a forge method to restrict items that supports perms, however there is the forge perms mod
