Ironclaw2000 Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 As I have started to get into more advanced mods, I have noticed that some mods recipes are different in game than in the wiki. For example, in dimensional doors, in game, I need a stable fabric to make a rift signature, whereas in the wiki, it says I need an ender pearl. Same with with galacticraft. For example, the nasa workbench requires wafers, end compressed metals in-game, but the technic wiki says it should require only some alloy ingots and a crafting table. Could anyone tell me why this might be? Am I playing on an outdated version somehow, or is the wiki outdated? Quote
Kalbintion Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Wiki is most likely outdated (I havent seen much activity in it for a vast majority of mods and pages) - that or it is correct and the pack is customizing the crafting recipes (of which there are mods available for pack developers to do so) - the latter being less likely but theres also mod's configs that permit recipe changes for compatibility sake or just compatibility things in general to change recipes. Curunir Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 The wiki is indeed outdated. Some recipes are still displayed as they were in Tekkit 1.1, and many of the (sometimes drastic) ingame changes have never been reflected on the wiki pages. Use NEI as your primary lookup tool. Also try looking at the mods' own wiki pages for specifics, if you can find them. Quote
Ironclaw2000 Posted September 8, 2014 Author Posted September 8, 2014 Thanks guys for the quick responses. So i guess it is the wiki that is wrong. Sucks, the wiki recipes are quite a lot easier to make. Quote
Kalbintion Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Well, you're always free to choose that version to play on through the launcher (cog icon under the modpack logo) - or if you feel adventurous, finding and using those mods I spoke about that let you change crafting recipes of other mods (bit harder to setup, would most likely void server compatibility [ie: cant connect]) Quote
Calvin54 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 (edited) The NEI crafting recipes are mostly correct, except for the liquids... Or my NEI has the liquid recipe mixed up added pictureshttp://imgur.com/jZVETyQ Edited September 9, 2014 by Calvin54 Quote
Kalbintion Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Watcha mean? What is it telling you that you expected to see? Quote
Curunir Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 In the picture it looks like you could fill an Illuminator Frame with Resonant Ender, when it really is Glowstone. No idea why that is. Quote
Roversword Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 What happend to me a few times is, that NEI showed me all possibilites of one certain recipe on one single page with "moving" pictures. In some of those occasions it showed me different ingredients which I could change, but the result never changed even thought it should have according to the ingredient put into the machine/recipe. It was more of a "look, you can put all that into the recipe or machine and you end up with this block...which looks of course differently for each stuff you put in, but I could not be bothered to show the different results as well". Maybe that is the same issue here? I do not know... Quote

Almost seems like an ore dictionary issue...something added resonant ender to be identical to glowstone Quote
