ale20_us Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 hello ive started up a server on my home computer, have done this before with no problems. Just a simple question i cant seem to remmeber how to make a friend an Op and to increase memory for it as well. Many thanks for your time.
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted September 10, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted September 10, 2014 Making someone an OP: from the server console, just type "op playername". If you are an OP already, you can type "/op playername" in game. Increasing the memory allocated to the server is done from within the batch file you use to launch the server. There are two parameters (-Xmx and -Xms) you should see indicating an amount of memory (something like -Xmx1024m). Change them as required.
jominer247 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Make sure your computer has the amount of RAM installed that you are allocating to your server, pagefile will NOT work as ram, and neither will your backing storage. Also preferably use Linux CentOS as an OS and not windows. Also don't play on the PC your running the server on.

jominer247 Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Also, look for a MCPC+ jar to use with your server; I've found that to reduce CPU usage.
