i created a tekkit server following the youtube video and it all worked fine. when my friend tried to join he could not get on. Please help

Description of problem:

My friend can never get on my tekkit server and i set it up following a youtube video.

Crash message: n/a

Crash log: n/a

Ask your friend about the crash message and log, the log can be found at %AppData%/.techniclauncher/logs/launcher_0.log. How exactly your friend cannot join? The server is not found or the server rejects connection?

I'm guessing the video neglected to tell you how to port forward or find your external IP.

He types in the ip and it has no connection

Open your port in your router, else no-one can join.

Search port forwarding and your router model number...you'll probably find something very specific. Programs also exist to log into your router and do it for you but you should really learn to do it yourself.

Forward the port to your internal network IP or computer name (the latter is preferable). Give your friend the external IP Just google My IP.
