Iceburg Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Hello! Yesterday I tried to start the technic launcher, but got an error message instead of the regular screen. I'm not getting this error in my regular minecraft launcher, which runs as it always did. I was told that this error is caused by the latest version of java (Java 8), which is the one running on my mac, but I don't know how to downgrade it nor if this will solve the problem. Can anybody help me? Thanks for reading! (Sorry for any mistakes in the text, I'm not a native speaker, so it is a little bit harder for me)
Moderators Munaus Posted November 3, 2014 Moderators Posted November 3, 2014 Uninstall java 8 Restart PC Install java 7u71 https://www.java.com/en/download/manual_java7.jsp you're not getting this error on vanilla minecraft because vanilla is not running Forge. Forge is the glue that makes modpacks exist.
Iceburg Posted November 3, 2014 Author Posted November 3, 2014 I am actually running forge on vanilla launcher. I have Gammabright, InventoryTweaks, and Optifine installed. This error is also happening to my pirate mc launcher, but I will try to do the step by step and will answer back if I succeeded or failed. Thanks!
