Solder Issue

Today, I wanted to give Solder a spin and have been having a few issues. First of all, when trying to add a version of forge, I get '>. I've checked the download url and it shows the modpack correctly. What did I break?

Also, the directory is owned by www-data:www-data and is chmoded to 777

I've been using Solder for around six months now, and I've had the same problem. I chalked it up to a bug in whatever's getting the checksum, I don't think you have anything set up wrong. To get around it, I've just been using phpmyadmin to add in versions manually (you'll have to get the md5sum of all of your mod files yourself.) Here's my workflow:

1. Put the zipped mod file inside the mod's directory.

2. Go to the Solder "add version" page, and type in the version number.

3. Click the generated link to download the zip file. (This is a check to make sure you have the name and location correct!)

4. Take the md5sum of the downloaded file. (On Linux, type "md5sum filename.zip").

5. Log into phpMyAdmin. Go to the mod versions table in the Solder database. "Insert" a new row, filling in everything but the first ID box. You can find the mod ID in the URL from step 2. The MD5 sum is the one you just found manually. The "time added" and "time updated" can be anything, but I always just open the calender and click "done" to set it to whatever day it is.

6. Save the row. Now, go back to the "add version" page and refresh it. You should see the version and its md5sum in the list!

You can use phpmyadmin to do anything the Solder interface won't let you do. If you do it all correctly, the mods are served perfectly, and it's totally worth the extra work.

So.... When will these things be fixed?

Well, they will be fixed when they are fixed. These are made by people volunteering their time.

I'd say it will not take too much time and I suggest you check back to the website. Right now it looks stable to me (but there are others).

Good luck

Im also having a solder problem but a different one. It is all up and running, and the site itself sees my solder and says "linked" i created a modpack... but i can't add any mods to the modpack. I was able to add mods in general, im able to add a modpack in general but i can not add mods to the modpack because it refuses to show the version numbers in the drop down.

Aside from that, on the technic site itself it says that the pack is not linked to anything and does not have a download file. Yet, in modpack settings it says "oh we see this pack on solder" and i already clicked "link". So theres like three different points here that are horrible broken or something.

I actually still had this issue when it was in DEV before they even released the site to everyone. Nice to see its still broke.
