  1. Less like "getting away with it" and more like, "he gave permission". Still, the shaky legal grounds mods technically rest upon anyways pretty mean that anything anyone says about modpacks means bugger-all as far as "legality" goes.
  2. Er.. I meant the automatic one in the forum software. Unless that doesn't exist/really work, in which case I tip my hat to you moderators. Well, I do that anyways. I'll have to start wearing two hats everywhere. Oh. Okay. Somehow I'm disappointed.
  3. In hindsight, I really do wish I had chosen a less tacky/grandiose/clunky nick for my online stuff. Oh well.

I can't remember, how did you get yours DW?

      That.... makes sense.

  4. Virustotal has now become one of the entries on my chrome homepage. Not sure what that says about me. SCAN ALL THE THINGS.

  5. I'm surprised the spam filters didn't automatically reject it. ... There are spam filters here, right? Shouldn't it catch people who post links on their first post right after creating their account?
  6. So unless they changed the generation code itself, all of the old oil-rich seeds people gave ignorantly become valid now? AHahhaaaaha. No. *slaps self*
  7. That last duck one didn't go in the WB though. Still, I propose that if we ever get an alien transmission asking how our technology works, we simply give them a copy of that thread.
  8. I don't think I can speak for the admins, but in my opinion at least, that last duck thread was pretty darn good. Except for the two guys at the end.
  9. No kidding. My personal guess is that if it doesn't die within the first 5 minutes of use, it'll be obliterated when people start playing with rockets and DimDoors.
  10. I would try looking around on the platform for a while, I bet someone's already put that together, just waiting to be played with. You just have to find it. Or, if you can't find it, I'd recommend trying to make your own using luke's guide. Then you could have it exactly the way you want it!
  11. Trains. Trains trains trains train train train. Train-ey trains. Trains that ride trains that ride trains. Trains training training trains to train. Train train train train train train trains.

Do you follow my.... train of thought?

I.... think so. It has to do with trains, so I guess it's all right. Too many trains in one post for me not to like it, anyway.

  12. Just because something is common in the world, doesn't mean it cannot be incredibly precious to those who hold it.

And a happy new year. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

  13. I'd install ICBM just for the antidotes. They're stackable, reasonably easy to make, easy to scarf down quickly, and as far as I can see, are the only real in-game solution for this. If I get enough time to, (and I'm talking on the time-frame of maybe in a month or three when I say this), I might try making a solution to this as my first mod ever. It seems like it would be simple enough to do once I got all of the logistics of using forge and such out of the way, and it would be a good learning experience.
  14. You take ten seconds to use google to find out if mojang's servers are down. If they aren't, then you check to see if your firewall rules are set up correctly. If they are, then you talk to whoever maintains/administrates the network that you are using.
  15. Well, if this isn't a problem with mojang's servers, (which happens often and is what this sounds like), then it's most likely a firewall or something on your network blocking the launcher from talking to mojang's servers. If that dosn't work, post a bug report.
  16. I'll give you a hint. It involves reading these.
  17. Subtlety? *Fires bazooka into face of enemy infiltrator* What's that?

  18. Er.... Recuva is the first entry in the list I gave a link to. I gave a list because I've had times where some file recovery programs didn't find things that others did, etc. Actually, you're half-wrong on that point. Depending on what tool you are using, exactly what happened to the deleted files, and how deeply they are buried, a quick scan can take something more on the order of seconds/a minute or two to find them. A deeper scan can take a while if a quicker scan doesn't work though.
  19. No problem. Next time something like that comes up, best to just google it. Faster too. Question, those files didn't end up in the folder you moved everything to by chance, did they? If you put it back to the default directory, and you're on windows, that'd be in C:\Users\WhateverYourUserNameIs\AppData\Roaming\.technic\WhateverModpackYouWereUsing Maybe whoever is currently updating the launcher should look at that, add a warning or something when you change directories, I can see that easily causing issues for some people...
  20. You want a file recovery program. There are lots of free ones. http://pcsupport.about.com/od/filerecovery/tp/free-file-recovery-programs.htm
  21. There is no law of nature that says you cannot do something that you do not already know how to do.

If you give up immediately when you don't know how to do something, you are defeating yourself.

  22. *Sees bitcoin prices* THAR SHE BLOWS!

  23. Hmm, seems I remembered incorrectly, the blue gene project is technically just a bunch of supercomputers. I was thinking of the Blue brain project. Here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Brain_Project http://bluebrain.epfl.ch/ http://seedmagazine.com/content/article/out_of_the_blue/ It's less like AI and more like brain emulation, but my question stands.
  24. Second question. If we only exist because we can generate thoughts, where does that leave the eventual success of the blue gene project?
  25. I'd go to the forums and ask around if I were you. You might get lucky and be able to obtain fixes for those individual drivers if their support isn't too terribly tied to the massive updates to the DKDC YOLK core. If the quack-time of your install isn't too terribly vital, you might be able to do a band-aid patch until then, but you should be careful that the update doesn't break your install if there are any last-minute changes made to those patches. (Unless of course you're using a Source Hidden Egg-thentication Lite Loader crack, then you'll probably have to do everything over again anyways unless they decide to stop playing whack-a-crack and not patch the SHELL this time around for some reason. But we probably shouldn't discuss piracy on these forums anyways.) EDIT: Or that works too. See, that's why the DKDC group is one of my favorite dev groups. Easy to reach and very reasonable to work with. I hope we can continue to look forward to releases from you and your team even into the vast future, DW.
