NEED HELP PLAYING ON A SERVER PLEASE READ
Torezu replied to FrostDrone's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Good nature or otherwise, if you encourage people to post drivel in the wrong section, without reading first, it will just cause more of the same. -
Are you trying to play Tekkit single-player, or is this a server you're running? Post a launcher log (with pastebin or code tags please).

Read timed out, Trouble logging onto server
Torezu replied to Vanquished's question in Tekkit Classic
Post a server log. Your launcher log looks fine, so your server may be screaming about something. -
Do you have a 64-bit OS and run 32-bit Java? If that batch file is in the same folder as your tekkit.jar, that's the only thing I can see being wrong. Double-check to make sure java.exe actually exists in that Program Files path. You may need to change the path slightly, or install 64-bit Java if you have a 64-bit OS.

Just go get the version of OptiFine Standard that's appropriate for your MC version, open it with 7zip, and drop it into modpack.jar in the bin folder.
-
Nope, I've stuck with default or Faithful32. I run a server on the same computer, and I don't really want a higher-res texture pack pulling larger amounts of RAM. May I suggest painting those glass fiber cables to split them up? Cable intersections like that are not nice to EU efficiency in my experience.

Nuclear Reactor ComputerCraft setup
Torezu replied to Silent_Potato's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
You could eke a little more power out of it by replacing one of those stacks on the bottom row with a cell. Actually, I'd space them out in the corners for maximum output, personally. Yes, yes it does. Just make sure you're feeding it enough ice, or very bad things will happen to your base/reactor building and the surrounding area. High-cell-count reactors tend to go boom rather quickly and rather violently. -
If you're running a laptop with an nVidia card, try going into your NVIDIA Control Panel and assigning the card to be used with Java, the launcher, and Minecraft. For some reason, your laptop has decided that Java doesn't need graphics acceleration, so it defaults to the onboard graphics chipset, which is usually crap.

Your texture pack is throwing me off - are those MFEs in the power source picture at the bottom?

Quarries randomly stop working?
Torezu replied to atimeforglory's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Really? Some people sleep at certain times, and no one is obliged to help you, even slightly. This could be a BuildCraft issue. You could be running into lava. Quarries may now have a height limit, for all I know. -
Why would you say this? Hamachi is used for regular servers all the time.
-
You most likely have multiple versions of Java installed, since you think you have 7u5 and your launcher says you have 6u30. Go remove the older ones, and make extra-sure you have the 64-bit version of 7u5.

Use the .jar, Luke!

Should I ask what version and mod pack you're running, or just delete the thread for not being a launcher bug? Hmmm...

Must have Forge Build #136+ (4096 fix) to connect to this server
Torezu replied to Henric Andersson's question in Technic Launcher
It doesn't matter how many views it has. Those are probably mostly people that actually used the search bar. So, I'll say it again. The solution is clearly posted at the top of the Tekkit Bug Board. -
Did you get a brand new copy of the launcher? There was a non-update patch to it, which may not have downloaded, that handles the fact that 1.3 is out.
-
Post a launcher log. Use pastebin please. Also, did you actually uninstall AVG, or just disable it, and did you just run it or reinstall while it was disabled/uninstalled?
-
Did you double-click the search bar in NEI? Is it yellow? Try double-clicking it again.
-
Several days to figure out a problem? That screams virus or system collapse to me.
-
3 possible reasons for this, that I can think of: 1) You're not on the server's whitelist. 2) Your connection to the minecraft.net servers is down, and you're in offline mode. 3) You're using a cracked launcher.
-
Are there any that have actually updated already?
-
I realize you're not brain dead, but you did allow flight on the server, right?
-
You're not being rude - you're being unrealistic. No one has experience with all applications, and unless your uncle has actually looked at the launcher code, he can't make a statement like that with anything resembling certainty. We, on the other hand, have been watching AVG screw with the launcher, especially during updates, for months now. Now, if you updated Java, and that's what's causing the issues, you might be able to get it working by getting a new copy of the launcher and re-downloading whatever mod pack you were trying to play. Otherwise, it's AVG.
