Server issue I havent seen addressed...
Torezu replied to blainecopeland's topic in Server Op Swap Shop
Thread moved to the place for this. Hamachi does not need an IP set in the server config. Are you certain that the host computer's IP is the one that's being used for the connection, and that both the host computer and your brother's client are on the same Hamachi network and show a valid connection? I have no issues using Hamachi to host a small server. The other things that interfere with that are AV/firewall software on either end, and a pre-set port-forward that's confusing the host or the client. -
There is a guide (somewhere) on Tekkit Lite and Voltz, but no, TC and Voltz are incompatible. To the other two on the thread: try to keep the unnecessary mocking to a minimum. It was a legitimate question from someone who's probably not familiar with the Minecraft versions of any given modpack. To the OP: keep in mind that questions like this, if not this exact one, get asked a lot, and a search might be faster than posting and waiting for an answer.

I'm not...seeing the problem, unless you're talking about far-away chunks not loading. That's somewhat normal. However, I'd reduce the RAM usage of the server from 2-3 to 1-2 GB, and max out your client at 1-1.5 GB to give Java a place to clear garbage out at. It looks like you have a lot of red alloy wire connecting stuff, and if that's on a timer or other cycling controller, it can cause a lot of memory use issues, especially if it's got a short cycle time. So, more specifics about the in-game setup are necessary, especially if it's changed or been added to recently.

Something is broken configuration-wise with the server. 2 questions: Does it work in single-player? Are you experiencing any other issues? Also, you can make a generator with a furnace, machine block, and battery instead of using an iron furnace. Try that instead. If all else fails, back up everything and replace the server (first) and client files with new ones, then copy over the map.

Moved to a more helpful section and code tagged, because I'm feeling nice at this particular moment.

Moved to a more helpful place. You'll need to provide more information on how it doesn't work.

OMG U SINED AL UR POSST!!!!

Not likely. The laziness involved in posting an IP only indicates that there's very little hope for improvement.

I think the project's dead, guys.

{NEED BUILDERS AND STAFF FOR SERVER}help!!
Torezu replied to creeperlike9's topic in Server Op Swap Shop
Let me give you a tip for posting. Don't pick a thread where the OP is doing something stupid, such as stealth advertising and posting in the wrong place, and offer help. It always ends badly. -
I wud bet, but id win.

You have a laptop with an NVidia card. Read this, from a completely different place and time. Only you should use the NVIDIA Control Panel instead, under the Manage 3D Settings button and the Program Settings tab.

Awww, man. I'm too lazy to go back and re-edit all of his posts. Suffice to say it was hilarious, and maybe he learned a lesson.

Torezu replied to Chad Waters's topic in Voltz Servers
killme, please provide screenshots or other proof. Chad, update your OP to reflect the server posting requirements. -
Is that error message on the host computer? Is the host computer IP made static? If it can change, that may cause problems. If nothing is showing up as running on the dedicated port, that could cause issues. The port needs to be open, and a correctly port-forwarded setup will show up on a port scan from any of the sites that do that for you. My concern from your end would be how the router treats the incoming connection request from Minecraft clients. Can you connect to the laptop-based server from your desktop? If so, is that done using a local IP address? All these things probably need answered, in one way or another, to troubleshoot your server problem.

Need people for HARLEM SHAKE in Minecraft! JOIN
Torezu replied to jayjaymozza's topic in Off Topic Discussion
It's good to let people know because this is a forum for modded Minecraft, and if you have mods and they don't, they won't be able to participate. Also, why is this here? -
Pipe type 0 is the base item for most or all of the BC pipes. If you have some, that means either BC has not been on the server for a short time and the server itself reset them to the base item, or a rollback tool or map editor was used, and that reset them. There is no other way to recover them besides replacing them that I know of.

Get a water bucket, and preferably some nano or fire-resistant armor. Jump into lava. /tpaccept. Jump out and douse yourself. Port away if you can.

Given that permissions have not been given (read the Mod Packs section), I find this unlikely to happen.

You need to post a bug report or a request for help in the Server Op Swap Shop section. Also, you don't need to put the IP in the server config file. It just confuses the server. Finally, all your friends must be on a Hamachi network with the server host.
