  1. "Greylisted" servers, even those (with no whitelist) that use permissions or such to prevent someone from doing anything, go in the whitelist servers section. There's a post about it at the top of the server sections.
  2. Or see this thread for instructions on disabling the part of it that seems to cause problems.
  3. Notice this: atioglxx.dll? That's a graphics .dll. I'm guessing your video drivers are too old (for the newest version(s) of Java) or too new (for your OS). I'd try updating them first. If that doesn't work, go hunting for an older version that still functions.
  4. You also put this in the wrong section. This is for launcher bugs. You have a block ID conflict, which probably means a botched update. You'll most likely have to completely delete your .techniclauncher\tekkit folder and reinstall.
  5. I don't have access to my server, but I think it's in the config folder in the server directory. I don't believe the client has one.
  6. It should still be available. Try getting a new copy of the launcher. If it continues to fail, the 1.1 .jar may no longer be available.
  7. There is this, but I can almost guarantee you that having an exclamation point in your user name will cause you problems in the future with something else. I'd just change your profile name.
  8. Go grab a new copy of the launcher. There have been some patches put out to deal with new versions of Minecraft, and it looks like yours might not be the very newest.
  9. So what were you doing, that you say it gave you the unable to create VM error before now? Can you bump your batch file up to, say, -Xms3G -Xmx5G, and see what it does?
  10. Are you changing any configuration files in-game after you install? Your problem is not normal or common.
  11. You tried everything? Did you jump rope on a high wire over the Grand Canyon?
  12. OP: I know it says you have the current version of the launcher, but there have been a couple of non-version-number patches to deal with new MC versions (1.3.1 and 1.3.2, specifically), so I recommend a new launcher and deleting the mod pack folder of your choice. Make backups, of course.
  13. You need to go look at one of the two sections wherein you might find the answer to this question already posted. This isn't the place for your post.
  14. Then you probably just need a new copy of the launcher and a complete reinstall. Back up your mod pack folder, and make sure you get rid of .minecraft as well. New everything! :D
  15. That's okay. There's a new rule about people asking others to find a server for them, anyway. It's getting old having the Tekkit section fill up with private server sneaky ads and requests for a "nice server" when we have three perfectly good sections where people can find servers.
  16. Turn Render Far off in the Video Options menu somewhere. Performance, I think?
  17. If it's for SSP, how did you miss the single-player sections? Also, why didn't this go in the maps section (Get Lost Grotto)? I'll move it there, since this looks interesting.
  18. Full quantum is actually over 100% (104% to be specific). It's just that if you take off any of the pieces, it loses a portion of its protection.
  19. It's far easier to create a map in Tekkit with the same seed as your vanilla MC map, as long as the MC versions also match, then MCEdit your buildings over. That way, ores will generate everywhere.
  20. That was probably the update. All the block IDs changed between versions of Technic, so...previous worlds aren't compatible. Changing versions of Tekkit worlds can sometimes do the same thing. That's why I always make backups before updating anything, and use manual build selection and the auto-world-backup feature in Options.

    update fail

Grab a new copy of the launcher, remove Java 6 and install Java 7, and disable McAfee while the launcher is working. At the minimum, do the last two.
  22. Where did you put the launcher, and where were you right-clicking on the .jar to try to run it? It defaults to c:\Documents and settings somewhere, and may be hidden. I haven't used Windows XP in a while.
  23. WinRAR, free or not, has nothing to do with this, unless you're trying to modify the .jar - it's just getting in the way. Anyway, why the month-old necro for this post?
  24. Yeaaahh...you need a new launcher. Badly.
  25. Third mod post in this thread is the charm. Really, this discussion has been done to death. Wait for EE3 if you want to discuss overpowered and SSP vs. SMP any more.
