  1. what Teraku said...your old lappy probably had an nvidia or ati chipset...intel should not be allowed to call their garbage "accelerated"
  2. tekkit is forge based so it uses the forge world folder structure. bukkit plugins gennerally use the bukkit structure. Use a dev version of multiverse, at least build #667 or higher. mystcraft is called multiverse for forge but its not as powerful as multiverse. with multiverse i can run a creative world and seperate the inventories so people cant bring back creative made items into survival.
  3. uninstall 32 bit java and install 64 bit java for more ram. But 32 should work, you probably need to run something like superantispyware to clean up spyware...
  4. Just wait, give it time. It take awhile on the mojang screen and mine even says not responding for a a minute before it starts sometimes.
  5. *facepalm* There is a bukkit bridge plugin listed in the downloads for enabling plugins to interact with the forge based dynmap. I imagine this will help.
  6. Pay attention and read the forge page for dynmap very carefully...specifically look at the different versions you can download.
  7. Use dynmap for forge and then the bridge plugin if you need another plugin to interact with dynmap. Look at dynmaps forge page. since the forge version is a mod it goes into thee mods folder. Last I checked the dynmap bukkit page had a link outside to the forge page saying it was now the latest information.
  8. You need to be running 64 bit java for it to not crash. Uninstall all java and reinstall a 64 bit version. Then the launcher should start in 64 bit mode, mine did, but I already added the java64 directory to my window path variable for other reasons, so I am not sure if that's required...You can find information on the web about this. Don't ask in this development thread.
  9. and stop, just get the 1.1.5 version, it is based on 1.5.2. then you can run a newer mcpc
  10. I just told you waht you need to do. That is a result of one of the chicken mods cleaning up orphan chunks. Find the setting and set to 0.
  11. Trying to remember, but you must set the chicken chunks "cleanup orphan chuncks" or something like that, to 0, which will disable that feature. This is all fixed up in the 1.5.2 versions of mcpc and it looks like the next tekkit is almost going to rec, so might as well wait, or just use the 1.1.5.
  12. wait a minute...server 1.2.5 get to tekkit classic forum!!!! In that case, maybe you need java 6...
  13. make sure you java is current and you don't have multiple installations...
  14. Make sure you only have one installation of java in you add/remove program or programs and features control panel option. And make sure you wait. My gaming rig takes a while to load the current version of tekkit, and sometimes it says not responding, but just WAIT PATIENTLY, it may just take a while. The next version seems to load faster. If you don't know how to do the java installation/checking stuff, research and learn for your self.
  15. Yes, you get rid of the server jar and mcpc is your new server jar.
  16. oh the sky black and unloading can be fixed by setting the clean up orphan chunks timer to 0, which diables it. That not the exact wording but its in the chickenchunks configs i think, or one of the chiken configs
  17. Hevent used the commanad blocks but i was curious and checked out the wiki. Did you enable command blocks in the server.properties file? it also states you must be both opped and in creative mode when placing them. I like the "pad" type teleporters, so i will be using this on my server. good luck.
  18. i am using royal commands integrated world manager on mcpc build 341 with a tweak for the death inventory bug and the worlds work. grief prevent can only protect the main world though. i run a family kids server so i need a creative world , and i have a small group of older players that play survival... everyone says use mystcraft, but i dont think I can seperate inventories with it. from my research, it looks like the multiverse devs and mcpc devs have the initial fix in place, but its 1.5.2. by the time all the tekkit mods update so tekkit can update, this will probably be all sorted...
  19. What are you using for bukkit compatability? I use mcpc plus, and found that jenkins build 431(c version) is the final version that will allow bukkit based plugin world managers to work. It has a small bug though. I spent last weekend trying to fix it in. many ways. finally I got the source code for that build an made the change that fixed the bug. I posted a mediafire or dropbox link(cant remember) a few days ago. If you want to fix it, find my previous thread and use my bugfixed versioin, or wait until tekkit hits 1.5.2 and then yu can use the new versions again, for the multiworld stuff has been fixed(will need to use at least multiverse dev build 667)
  20. this is the issue I struggled with this weekend. Basically you need to use MCPC build 431 (or below). 432 and above cause that problem. somethign to do with forge following world folder convention and bukkit making up their own, or vice versa...I made a version of 431 with a bug fix that I use...
  21. http://www.mediafire.com/download/hdau9rnnd50xsba/mcpcInventoirydeathfix.zip Just thought I would share some information on a bug I worked all weekend to fix, with no luck, only to just mod the original code as a last resort, and it turned out way easier! The info: I use MCPC+ for bukkit support. Its amazing. I am just some dude, I don't know that team at all. Anyhow Build #431 is the last one the I can get working on my tekkit server that uses a bukkit plugin for world creation. There is a bug that makes your inventory invisible after respawn, until you use something or relog. It wreaked havoc with my royalcommands worldmanager creative/survival inventory separation. A few builds in th efuture from #431 fixed it, but also updated forge and breaks bukkit based multiworlds (for 1.5.1, there is a fix now for 1.5.2 but tekkit runs on 1.5.1). So after trying everything else, I managed to download the source code from 431 and make the change from the changelog that fixed this bug. And it works! So you are welcome to it. All this pertains to mc 1.5.1. btw. TL:DR if you use MCPC and bukkit based multiworlds for tekkit (or any server for 1.5.1 clients), this is the most up to do version that will not break all your worlds that are not the main one, plus a bug fix. if you don't use MCPC and are interested but don't know how- just replace the tekkit.jar with the jar in this zip file. (I rename mine to Tekkit.jar for my hosting service) After starting your server, you will have a plugin directory. Careful! Back up your worlds and all that, cause you never know. then you drop bukkit plugins (get the versions designed for 1.5.1, but sometime other versions work) into that plugin folder and reboot and you have done it. Finally, I have never coded java, or compiled ANYTHING successfully in my life. I just hacked through this, but my server is running, ill post any problems if they crop up. Good Luck! Have Fun! BTW---this is NOT a tekkit bug. This is a fix for a MCPC+ bug as used for this version of tekkit, that's why I posted here and not bug reports...
  22. I almost didnt click this gem, but I thought how the OP could not find dynmap while looking for "dynamic web map", so I clicked to see if it was a troll (No offense Op, when I strated the server stuff I didnt hear of it for a while either) Anyhow, I put up a tekkit lite server with a gig of ram, no players yet, and ram usage says 100% on the web based control panel, dunno how accurate that is, but I will be looking into this over the weekend. I have been stumped on the ram usage shooting up, as the map has little more than the spawn area generated cause I havent gone to far. I dont know 100% it happened after dynmap, but its a good tip, thanks! mcpc is going on this weekend, so Ill play around with that. Thanks again, server ops need a general warning about this if it turns out to be the case, most people will never click this thread though....
  23. Get the version for craftbukkit 1.1 r4 Type /ver ingame to see what version of craftbukkit is running, but for 2.1.1 its 1.1 r4.
  24. This probably got updated after tekkit 2.1.1 was released. The team is probably waiting for a few other things to be updated before making another release. If it was me , I would. Its an easy fix, and I havent seen problems yet but haven't tested it nearly enough. I tried to update industrial craft this way and things started buggin, so tekkit must make some changes to the package or something, I dont know.
  25. I notice in my log on bootup it displays "forced chunks loaded". Some of them are my spawns for different worlds but not all. Maybe the rest are from chunnkloaders. I have 10 forced chunks loaded, but I stressed responsible use of them to my players.
