  1. Setting the graphics settings to this: #################### # graphics #################### graphics { I:"Bloom Multiplier"=1 B:"Use Pixel/Vertex Shaders"=false } in mmmPowersuits.cfg raised my FPS by 30, I suggest this is made default.
  2. 1. Tekkit Classic is currently at version 3.1.3. Tekkit Lite is currently at version 0.6.5. Tekkit is currently at version 1.1.8. Calling Tekkit "Tekkit 4" would be saying Tekkit is on version 4.x. Obviously, not the case. 2. Mojang's job is to update Minecraft, not accomidate people who modify it. 3. This is your personal opinion. The mods in Tekkit encompass just as much as in Tekkit Lite, if not more. In Tekkit Lite, there were handheld drills, solar panels, a different type of pipe, and frames. In Tekkit, there is the moon, space stations you can design and build yourself, lots more MFR content, lots more DimDoors content, lots more vanilla content, (Hoppers alone are worth the update) and much much more. My personal opinion, and that of much of the community is that the opposite is true. EDIT: Don't triple post. I seem to recall there being 1 pack that this has happened too: Tekkit Lite. Technic lasted a really long time. Tekkit Classic lasted a long time. Tekkit Lite had mods die on it. Hexxit looks to be healthy and ready to last a long time.   3. Whoa it's like going back in dwwojcik history! I think this was within my first 2 weeks of membership! How'd it turn out?
  4. Ok. I kinda think wiping out the spawn and starting again wouldn't be a bad idea. Ideally it would have had a grid layout with most plots filled but others "for sale", with a central square/spawnpoint and the two main factions' embassys facing eachother across the square. The other two sides would be very valulable real estate, but would be sectioned into smaller plots to keep the spotlight on the main factions.
  5. Tekkit 4.0 would be a significant update to the original Tekkit (classic), which left of with 3.1.3. A completely new pack, with mostly different mods and a new direction should start out at 1.0, like Tekkit did. (My point that Tekkit Lite was a test is further renforced by the fact that it started as 0.5) Eventually, we may see, for example, Tekkit 4 for Minecraft 1.12. Lol, most people would consider this a good thing. The core mods for Tekkit Classic are RP2, IC2, and Buildcraft 3. The coremods for Tekkit, a completely new pack, are (mostly) completely new mods. Thermal Expansion, Galacticraft, MineFactory Reloaded, etc. Don't get me wrong, I love the feel of RP2, but Eloraam's update schedule (stupid RL) is not player or modpack friendly at all, which is why I'm watching Project Red, an open source clone. Also, IC3 isn't happening, IC2 v2.0 is. Public Dev builds are avaliable, and Direwolf has shown some new features in his recent videos and promised a spotlight eventually, in case you're curious.

  7. I was just thinking, it would be best if the embassys were centrally located. It would also be cool if player made factions could purchase plots in the spawn to build their own embassys to attract members and distribute weapons.

  9. Thinking back, I think the spawn city should have been better planned. 20/20 hindsight. Maybe when the map resets sometime in the far future? To get weapons, do I have to join an official faction? How do I know who to shoot my missiles at?
  10. Kotja is the king of multi-posting. As an added bonus, ComputerCraft computers have the ability to interact with rednet cables just like they could with bundled cable from RedPower.
  11. The Bio-Reactor makes the biofuel (At no energy cost, which is nice) You then need to pipe the purple stuff into a Biofuel Generator to get your MJs.

  13. Nahh, the animals are fine how they are. Generic farm animals, squid, and fictional monsters suits Minecraft well, I think. Gameplay > Realism

  15. What you define as core mods are no longer an option. IC2 has show some quite modpack-unfriendly release scheduling (Yes, I know, they have a legit excuse, but the fact is there is no official release for 1.5) and RP2 has not updated, everybody know that. And Tekkit is a fine name. People will know when you are talking about Tekkit Classic or Tekkit Lite because you'll say so. I don't think that's really relevant. The fact is that isn't how it works so we all just deal with it. Why would we stick with an old version of Minecraft just because Redpower hasn't updated yet when there are so many bugfixes and new features in both vanilla and mods? Amazing new content is coming in TE 3.0, hoppers and horses are only underrated by those who haven't used them, even IC2 is getting new content in 1.6, (Ooo, CESU's! Shiny!) Buildcraft 4.0, awesome new multiparts and frame machines, and much, much more. Give me a good reason why Tekkit won't be updated to 1.6 and beyond.
  16. Allocating is setting the amount of RAM the launcher is allowed to use. You can have a maximum of 7. Try 2 or 3.
  17. I skimmed the wikipedia article and saw "Long lasting nuclear waste" but after reading the title of and looking at the picture I'm convinced.

  20. That's rude. And your opinion, which is not shared by the team. Theirs is the one that matters. Tekkit Lite was a test. How well does Mystcraft work? Factorization? Thermal Expansion? How long can we use Railcraft before CJ adds malware? (Lol, jk) Which is better, ChickenChunks or Dimensional Anchors? The test was cut short when Redpower didn't update, and IC2 stalled. Tekkit is a refinement of Tekkit Lite, and imo a successful result.

  22. Just spam solar panels. Works in IC2. Although, I did see a pretty cool hydroelectric generator that would be anchored to the sea floor in popsci.
  23. My, the bots certainly are getting creative. That was the most realistic I've ever seen. Sciencentific advancement definately has some disadvantages.
  24. Changing your server to tekkit classic is something you have to take up with your server host.
  25. The launcher installs them for you.
